no.......no teams want to trade up.....let's examine and keep in mind the #2 pick in draft will get close to $30million guaranteed which is more than what most "franchised" players with superstar/pro-bowl experience get.
1-03) Atlanta Falcons - No, we are not trading up. As much as the Falcons would love to have either Jake Long or Glen Dorsey, the Falcons need everything so we will not trade up.
1-04) Oakland Raiders - The Raiders will take either Darren McFadden, Vernon Gholston, Chris Long or Glen Dorsey - so they don't have to move up.
1-05) Kansas City Chiefs - The only way the Chiefs would consider moving up is if Jake Long fell to the Rams pick at #2 - which does not appear likely at this time.
Nobody else is trading up - if they were, they would rather trade w/ Falcons or Raiders for less compensation and less guaranteed money to the player...
anyway, that's my $0.02.
My answer is no, as by trading any lower than pick 4, the Rams risk not being able to select any of the Big 4 on their draft board. Oakland are guaranteed one of their choice prospects, as are Atlanta, so there's no means there for a trade up.
Exactly what Bar-bq pointed out. We want one of the fab 4, and if we trade passed that, we wont have a good draft this year.
The only trade I see as likely in the first round would be KC, and it would only happen if Jake Long was still on the board and we were fairly certain one of the teams in-between 2 and 5 would draft McFadden or Ryan. We probably wouldn't want to trade so low that we'd lose out on an elite prospect, nor is it likely that teams much further down would be willing to give up the kind of compensation that it would take to move from say the middle or lower parts of the round.
