Dr. Schefter, I presume

INDIANAPOLIS - Between now and April 22, there will be a rumor a day about the St. Louis Rams’ intentions with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.

Rams general manager Billy Devaney is aware of this, but that didn’t prevent him from poking some fun Friday at ESPN reporter Adam Schefter’s “guarantee” that the team will take Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford.

“That took a lot of pressure off us right away because when Dr. Schefter cleared him medically, we feel really good about the health status of Sam Bradford now with Dr. Schefter giving him a clean bill of health and guaranteeing our pick,” Devaney said. “So we’re on to the second round right now.”

Bradford is coming off shoulder surgery and will not work out at the combine.
