Well, since we played some 3-4 last year and Haslett wants to run it some, I'd have to say that we ARE somewhat serious about incorporating it into our system, and so Red, it wouldn't be a bad idea to add some linebacker talent, especially one of Connor's abilities.

That said, with the options available on the countdown mock, I might go with Sam Baker, just to solidify the OT depth. They have Andre Caldwell available in the third. He has all the physical tools, and I think a few years mentoring under Holt would do him wonders.

I'd definitely go for a guy like Baker if he's there as well. I wasn't trying to make a specific case for drafting Dan Connor in the second round, we obviously have a long list of more pressing needs. (DE, OL, WR, DB, etc.)

Then sir you would be correct, however you 3-4 views are misguided.

It also says he has limited experience playing tackle.

Chris Long and Vernon Gholston have limited experience playing 3-4 OLB but both are contenders to be taken first overall and used at that spot in Miami.

If a team thinks a guy has the skill set to play at a position and excel there, they can justify taking him regardless of college experience.

Brandon Albert has been projected into the top ten as a potential left tackle in recent weeks. Carolina pulling the trigger at 13 doesn't seem strange to me.
