Draft Journey: Crossing Paths (Suh & McCoy)
Draft Journey Video
I wanted to post this video because there is an interesting part at 1:11 where McCoy asks Suh what he thought about Spagnuolo (from meeting with him at the Combine). Rather than just spoil it for you, I'll let you guys watch it. The rest of the video is definitely interesting as well, I just thought that part was of particular interest to us fans.

Re: Draft Journey: Crossing Paths (Suh & McCoy)
Hmm, are these two future Rams teammates? They seem like they enjoy each others company and have great respect for each other.
It seems like some days I want to draft our franchise QB in Sam Bradford, but then I remember how much of a beast Suh is, and realize you CAN'T pass up on a once in a lifetime talent like House of Spears.
If DeSpags thinks Colt can be the answer at QB, I would love for those two to go to the Rams.

Re: Draft Journey: Crossing Paths (Suh & McCoy)
Thanks for that link, interesting watch. Thing that strikes me in that piece with those two is their personality / presence. McCoy seems a nice kid, but very much still comes across like a young pup. Not to say that he won't make it, just that he doesn't come across as 'ready', or as having that aura about him yet that says 'I'm gonna do this'.
Suh, on the other hand...yeah, he's got it. Watch it and try not to be excited by him.
I hear all the arguments for Bradford but I still think we can't pass up on Suh. I'm yet to be convinced Bradford's an elite QB in the making and in any case, behind our current OL, I'm just not sure we're a good fit for each other.
And yes, we need to draft for the long-term, but how do we know there won't be FA options next year (obv depending on what happens with next year...) or that the next draft won't have a QB who'd be on a par with (or better than) Bradford? I'm just not as convinced of that as I am that Suh is going to be a beast. And we've so many holes that I think you have to take the BPA - it's a long-term building project, after all. Not that bolstering the D is always a safe or 'best' pick (as we know), but we didn't have DeSpags at the helm then and not many have come through like this lad Suh.
Then again, my true colours are that I don't think Bulger is half as bad as some make out. I'd like to see how he'd fare behind greater protection that doesn't have him sat on his backside every time he takes to the field. THAT is the bigger problem for me and sticking Bradford in there right now...well, I just don't see how it helps his OR our development?
Will be very disappointed if we don't take Suh
Sorry, didn't want that to turn into another Suh v Bradford post...inevitable atm, I guess!Last edited by sonnyjames; -03-16-2010 at 08:44 PM. Reason: Apology :o)
