Re: Draft kenny britt round 2 !!!!!

Kenny Britt may or may not be a dominant force in the NFL. There are bigger priorities for this team than WR. Our second round should be used on a SS, or an interior lineman. If we do in fact pick Britt in the second round, I wouldn't complain. But if we don't, I wouldn't complain either.

And richtree, please stop using ellipses so much.

So I guess I'm out of luck on that list of ten free agent linebackers that are better than ALL the second round linebackers I listed? Darn.

Re: Draft kenny britt round 2 !!!!!

My bad after further review I've changed my opinion on him completely! He's not a possession WR. He is in fact a downfield threat, n based on what I've seen, completely disappears once in tight spaces. Didn't see any footage of him getting open on a short field (zed zone) unlike Crabtree. That's just what stuck out to me. You may say that the highlights I've seen on youtube are edited for just the big plays, but when looking up his numbers and seeing that he went without a TD for the first 7 games of the year does seem a bit odd.

It appears like he needs a lot of room to work, and what that takes is an offensive line to protect the QB. I think that's what the main difference between him and Crabtree are. That's how I view things at this moment. Looks like he might be somewhere inbetween a Devery Henderson and Vincent Jackson stretch the field type. But do we have a 4 yrs to wait on him to begin fufill his potentional? I still think we need a true dynamic playmaker with pick 1 to give Bulger one last chance because of the contract management gave him (even though I HATE him,), OL 2, SS/CB/LB/RB 3, LB/OL/SS/CB/RB 4, TE/FB 5 etc... all of which is determined by the plan for free agency.

Re: Draft kenny britt round 2 !!!!!

I agree bulger is on his last legs here, but if you can get to the playoffs with Tavaris Jackson, Joe Flacco, Kerry Collins we could turn it around under Bulger.

I think Bulger personally hated going into this year with Trent Green brought in, a bad coach, a bad system and no SJAX at camp.

He seemed mentally out of it (like he owed 20 large to a bookie or something)

but this year Bulger is playing for his career, if he doesn't look good his career is over

so I say stick with him for one more year, and maybe grab a young back up, Trent Green is doing us no good.

Bottom line is we need a coach and a GM that can bring guys in to St Louis

Lastly, we can't be sentimental and should consider cutting guys if we need cap space.

I agree Bulger isn't his old self, but on a good team he could win 10 games.

I think our secondary looks good, and our line isn't as bad as people think.

We need a strong OL coach and one more player on OL.

Three things we all can agree on:

    1. Sign the best O-Line coach we can get
    2. Sign best free agent Line Backer
    3. Get a SS that can Hit hard with speed ( adam arch type)

ps -- never thought I'd miss MAd Hedgecock

Adam Archalletta was horrible!!! I could have caught more interceptions than him! Plus he'd whiff on guys daily. Shesh, say LaRon Landry, or someone, we don't want or need another Archalleta. Ur killing me man. WTF.

I was just trying to use a "ram" as an example.

A hard hitter that can run alittle.

    Landry is perfect example !

I think the rams should keep an eye out for Ramses Barden (assuming they are looking for a WR). Much more realistic pick for the team. Gigantic frame, possesion guy, not a burner like Avery and Burton. Saw him beat my hometown team a few times. 67 catches 1200 yards and 18 touchdowns. Plus a 3rd rounder so no need to use up an early pick where we should be grabbing our lineman or DB.

Hmmm. Sounds like a Drew Bennett type of guy!

I do agree that we need some sort of guy that can reach for the ball in the redzone. Some guy that is tall that can jump up over defenders to make the catch. Both Kenny Britt and Ramses Barden are tall guys. But with Bennett coming back, and McMichael, that eliminates some of our need for a big receiver. But if we are absolutely convinced Bennett is worthless and won't improve, then we might look for a big guy in the draft. We need to focus on the defense and the o-line in this draft though. But if a good player that can make plays on the offensive side of the ball somehow falls to us, I say take him.

What immediate starters at MLB and SS are likely to be available with our 2nd round pick?

Scott Mckillop 6'2, 243lbs. Pittsburgh MLB

Patrick Chung 6'0, 210lbs. Oregon SS

Emanuel Cook 5'10, 203lbs. South Carolina SS

Sean Smith 6'3, 214lbs. Utah SS (Had a great season. I really like this guy. He can play both safety and cornerback positions, kind of like a Ron Bartell.)

There are a couple good SS in the third round.

Michael Hamlin 6'3, 205lbs. Clemson SS

Nic Harris 6'3, 225lbs. Oklahoma SS (Strong Safety - linebacker hybrid.)

Re: Draft kenny britt round 2 !!!!!

if you get a linebacker in free agency, and a SS even...

then you can build a team....

watch at all that teams that make good off season moves at LB and DE they will all be better teams

Now there's a prospect. Seems to have all the tools you'd look for in a late first, early second round project. He's very much a machine. Maybe doesn't have prototypical Brian Urlacher size (6'4, 254lbs) but his physicality all but makes up for two inches and ten pounds.

Re: Draft kenny britt round 2 !!!!!

why waste a second round pick on a lb that probably won't have an impact or help us win games.

we MUST get a established LB through Free Agency and draft Britt in the 2nd round

then we can cut Corey Chavous and get a SS in the third or also in free agency

if we cut holt and Chavous we can revamp the defense and get Britt

Britt is an impact player that can start on any most teams in the league

and this guy Rames or whatever won't start or than 2 NFL games in his career

    come on guys
