Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
Under Flajole as Starter
MLB-Draft- 107 TT and 5.5 sacks
WLB-Spoon- 103 TT, 3.0 sacks, and 4 picks
This guy knows how to use these guys and I think they both could put up good numbers. Spoon is bound for the weakside, but could Draft really start in the middle once again? Jon Beason and Antonio Pierce 237 and 238 pounds respectively. MLB's in their system really aren't that huge, but it may be to late for draft. What do you guys think.

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
I don't think Draft could. The Rams need some youth on the LB corp.

On my personal draft board I have the Rams taking Aaron Curry. And at about 247 lbs. this guy will man the Mike like he means it.
WHAT SAY YE?

What round would that be in Ramarkable?

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
I have us moving back and getting Rey Maualuga.

Curry will go in the top 5 so in order for the Rams to get him we'll have to pull the trigger with out first round pick.

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
Curry, 1st round. Steps on the field and has immediate impact. Take a LT in round two.

Is he a true #2 pick or can we move back and pick up picks and still get him?

Yep, bring more players.

Who trades with us? Who does our trade partner take with the pick? What do we get in return?

Chris Draft is going to be 33 years old this February. I'm not sure his age is a factor? He is a bit on the small side though listed at 5' 11" and 232 lbs. Witherspoon is actually bigger (6' 1"- 240 lbs) and about 4 years younger.
London Fletcher 5' 10"- 245 lbs
Ray Lewis 6' 1"- 250 lbs
Brian Urlacher 6' 4"- 258 lbs
I say we need to get bigger at the MLB position.

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
Here's the issue with the Rams trading out of the 2nd pick; unfortunately both Detroit and KC need QB's and that's about it. So, who is going to jump KC to get someone in our slot when they could maybe swap with either Detroit or KC? We are in the rocking chair in the first round, but maybe action takes place in the 2nd or 3rd round where we get more picks but not the 1st.

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
Are we interested in Maagaula, or whatever, from USC?
Isn't he a big, 250+, MLB?

I think the Curry pick is a possibility, but for the time being, I view it as one of the unlikelier choices.
A middle linebacker hasn't been drafted in the top five for at least ten years, the sad truth being that the MLB position simply does not command the type of money that a second overall pick is going to get. It would be much easier for a franchise to strike on a MLB that high with a rookie salary cap in place.
A part of me has to think that the Rams could spend their pick on something else and find a two-down thumper of a MLB somewhere else for less.

He's very likely a Top 5-10 if he can post combine numbers that support the idea that he's an every-down defender. If the Rams pass on him at #2, it's certainly possible he could go to KC at #3, if they aren't in love with any of the available QBs.

I don't think anyone knows if we're interested or not, but at this point I wouldn't consider Maualuga unless we moved out of the top ten.

Re: Draft, Spoon, and Flajole
Leave it to Nick to break down the draft like no one else. Is your last name Kiper?
I personally think we draft a studd OT in the first round. MLB in the second.
We should get a guard in FA.
Will someone please take Bennet for a third?
