Re: Eagles just release Wil Witherspoon
FWIW, the players that the Rams let go since Spags/Devaney took over:
Orlando Pace: Lasted 1 season in Chicago, cut
Torry Holt: Lasted 1 season in Jacksonville, cut
Richie Incognito: Lasted a partial season in Buffalo, not tendered
Will Witherspoon: Lasted 1 season in Philadelphia, cut
Chris Draft: Lasted partial season in Buffalo, not re-signed
Maybe they actually know what they are doing... what a concept!
(Note: by contrast, two players who were let go by the prior regime - Scott Shanle and Tony Hargrove - started for the Super Bowl Champs)
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Eagles just release Wil Witherspoon
Weird. Was he on the books for a lot of money? He played really well for the Eagles last year.

Re: Eagles just release Wil Witherspoon
This does surprise me indeed, every tiem i saw him play he was makign things happen out there for them.
I would hope that some of the goofs on here that jump on the "OMG Rams are Stoopid" train every time they THINK a bad move was made, would finally chill. There have actually been very few moves the Rams have done since Despags has come that turned out to go ill for them. Some questionable coaching decisions but I don't think none were awful, just conservative.
Maybe just maybe there is a reason we don't coach and scout players and Spags and co. do?

Re: Eagles just release Wil Witherspoon
Lewis was released (not resigned?) in Carolina also.
This was a VERY interesting portion of the Eagles article I read:
"Gibson had 34 receptions for 348 yards and a touchdown in eight games with the Rams. Over the last eight weeks of the season, no rookie had more receptions than Gibson. Michael Crabtree also had 34, and Jeremy Maclin had 30."
But remember, the Rams have done NOTHING to improve this team in the last two years.
