Eagles Release Kevin Curtis
Per Rotoworld:
Eagles release WR Kevin Curtis. Together with Darren Howard's release, the moves will save the team almost $10 million in salary and bonuses this year alone. With Jason Avant locked in as the slot receiver, Curtis no longer had a role on offense while bringing no value to special teams. After spending all of last season nursing a knee injury, Curtis is facing questions about how much he has left in the tank this offseason. His best bets for a landing spot are a return to St. Louis or Mike Martz's offense in Chicago.

Would anyone consider Kevin Curtis as a no. 1 receiver to join the Rams?

Re: Eagles Release Kevin Curtis
not as a number 1..perhaps worth a look at to see how healthy he is and possibly offer him a minimum vet salary for a year or two to have him as depth..but nothing more..ive always liked KC a lot, but with his injury history in recent years and his age..we cant offer him anymore really..Chicago would probably offer more than we would with them being in desperation mode..
Darren Howard interests me more to be honest.

Re: Eagles Release Kevin Curtis
To answer my own question, I would say no. Assuming his injury checks out OK, I like the idea of his veteran presence tutoring the young guys. But, I'd like our no. 1 to be someone in his prime or pick him up through the draft. He may be a good depth pickup though.

i loved "white lightning" back in 05' and hated when the rams let him go along with Corey Ivy. I'd like to see him back in Blue and Gold but for a low veteran salary.

Re: Eagles Release Kevin Curtis
We replaced him with Drew Bennett. I was disgusted than, with a move, as well as I'm now. I would really like to see him back, but again, I am afraid that my wish is based on, what would Viper say, 'white lightening' back from '05.

If we could hop in a Hot Tub Time Machine and get the '04-'05 Curtis, then yes. But we can't, so I'd have to pass.
