Re: Early 7-round Ram mock
Oooh.
Not addressing the OL until round four... and then doing so with a Right Tackle equates to a C from me. I really like Cadogan, but I'd like to see Pace's replacement much higher.
I don't understand the logic in a Round 2 RB.
Re: Early 7-round Ram mock
I think we need to fit myron pryor in there. Maybe a tackle in the third then pryor in the 4th and take Patrick turner from USC in the 6th.
I dont know a tackle in the third maybe the guy from Tulane falls.
i think pryor is a sleeper.quick and big will take up space and he can make plays.
Patrick turner will give us depth and a big body at WR. He was a playmaker in college, big, good in the redzone. i haven't seen him on the mocks i've glimpsed at so i don't really know where he is projected, or if he is projected to go.
I like the 1 pick.
Not sure if 2 or 5 will be there.
Re: Early 7-round Ram mock
I'm not sure the 2 or the 5 will be there either. The rest of the picks might not be ther either, too.
I think RB's will drop and that's why I have us taking him. If he's there - he's the best talent on the board. We need a good RB. Let's build our roster for the future - not just next year. Hopefully our decision-mkers are thinking long-term roster building. Passing on Beatty here will be tough, especially if Pace leaves, but the difference between Beatty and Cadogan (who may or may not last until our early 4th) is not that great.
When doing these mocks it appears every time you figure out what you think may be good value for a pick that guy shoots up the board and probably won'tbe available. I tied t be resonable and took some liberties too because some positions drop. I don't know why but its fun speculating.
I've already changed my 6th pick from Sammie Hill to Chris Baker, NT Hampton.
Re: Early 7-round Ram mock
I really like the lesean mccoy pick if he is there. I think there is much more of a chance for mccoy to be there then beatty. Of course they could both drop which would be great.
I think mccoy is a strong body who cuts well, can run db's over n bounce off tackles, im not sure about his hands or his blocking, but he is a haus. A mini SJ if you will.

Curry is my current choice as well. Still not sold on the notion that we can afford to pass on Raji, J.Smith and Monroe and take Crabtree if Curry goes #1, but that's not to say I'm not intrigued by the notion of a Crabtree/Avery pairing.

2.) LeSean McCoy RB Pittsburgh

I can't see taking a RB on day 1. Beatty would be a great pick at #35 if he's still there.

Interesting choice. Again, I think the Rams need to focus more on the interior line early.

4.) Gerald Cardogan RT Penn State
alternate: Michael Hamlin
Cadogan is my 3rd round choice for the Rams, so obviously I'd love it if they can get him in Round 4. Hamlin would be a good option if Butler does not sign.

5.) Rhett Bomar QB Sam Houston State

I don't think Bomar lasts this long.

6.) Sammie Lee Hill NT Stillman
alternate: Gartrell Johnson
Hill is a great sleeper pick. If he is there in Round 6, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

7.) Travis McCall FB Alabama
No argument there.
Nice job overall. Rep coming your way.
Have at it!
It's plenty early. More FA's to come (I hope), and quite possibly more picks. So it's just a work in progress; fodder for some draft discussion.[/quote]
