ESPN: Jets sign Pace to 6 yr/42 mil deal.
From ESPN:
----The New York Jets have agreed to a six-year, $42 million deal with DE/LB Calvin Pace.
Pace, a five-year Arizona Cardinal veteran. began his career as a defensive end before moving to linebacker in a 3-4 front in 2007.
Pace will receive a $20 million signing bonus, with $22 million of the deal guaranteed.
He chose between offers from the Dolphins and Jets.----
The Jets keep rolling. Meanwhile, The Cards lose another player.
This could be....could be just a bit too much money for Calvin Pace, in my opinion.

man the jets keep throwing money at people
Re: ESPN: Jets sign Pace to 6 yr/42 mil deal.
Well boys this means the Phins will take C Long IMO. Jake Long to the Rams.
Re: ESPN: Jets sign Pace to 6 yr/42 mil deal.
there goes my theory, C. Long will go first. Top 10 saddest days in Rams history with Bruce topping the list :\
Re: ESPN: Jets sign Pace to 6 yr/42 mil deal.
Wow, the cards are really dropping bods just to keep Fitz on the team.
Re: ESPN: Jets sign Pace to 6 yr/42 mil deal.
Jets are trying to get back to the playoffs and how! They'll be a pre-season favorite to compete with New England, but I just don't see it, as I think their QB, whoever it will be, will be sub par.
While I'm not sure this will ensure that Chris Long will be taken 1st, this doesn't help us. I'm not sure what Jason Taylor will play for the Dolphins next year, as he's an undersized DE, so I have to think he'll play OLB in the 3-4, which they're projecting Long for in the NFL. The Phins have already picked one OLB up, and so it seems that they already have two, and were looking for a third. Of course, if they think he can play DE in the 3-4, then it was all for not anyway. I still think that until we see them get another offensive lineman, that they're looking at Jake Long.
EDIT: I just checked and Smiley's a guard, and so they're down at least one starting OT, further making it look like they're in the draft market for one.
