Assuming none of them are franchised, who would be your choice?
Assuming the money is right, I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of them. However, I think Smith gives us the best combination of pass rush pressure & run stopper. Having said that, I would welcome Grant or Kerney either one for the same reasons. Freeney is the flashy choice, but will be the most expensive and pay little run stopping dividends (except for this postseason, where was that play all year, Dwight?!?!)
I think Grant is the most complete player of the above mentioned.
Also, he was drafted under Haslett's regime.
I'm not sure what salary a player like Grant would demand. Hopefully, he'll fly a little lower under the FA radar.
i accedently selected kerney, but i really want Justin Smith to join the rams..
I'd take any of them, but of course Dwight would be my first choice. That is if there wasn't a salary cap.
Since stopping the run has been the Rams problem over the past several years, I would go after Kerney, Grant and Smith. Like someone posted above, all three of those guys are balanced in both stopping te run and pressuring the Qb. Freeney is most definetly the best pass rusher on that list however I dont think he will have a very big effect on the run.
As for the salary cap, I think we have somewhere near 32 million in available space this offseason, which ranks 6th I beleive in the NFL. We should be able to land one of these guys as well as a replacement LB.
Either Grant or Smith, would prefer Grant but if we got either I would be happy..:l
Gotta go with Grant now, although Smith would have been a perfect fit.
I'm going to say Grant.. due to a real lack of other options
