FA Salary Question.

If you sign a FA in the offseason to a 1 year minimal $325k contract, and cut him in the preseason, how much of that money actually gets paid?

It depends.

If there is a signing bonus, then that is guaranteed, and is paid out.
If there are any workout bonuses, and they are accomplished, then that is paid out.
Players get paid extra for training camp, typically, at a flat rate for everyone, regardless of tenure. I don't know if this comes out of the cap though.

Other than that, salaries are paid in 1/16th amounts on game day or thereabouts, I believe.
