Which FA WR (other than Danny Amendola) Should The Rams Pursue?
Which guy do you want to see in horns?
(Wait for the poll choices to go up before answering)
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

None of the above (draft a WR instead) shocker....
Wes Welker makes sense with Amendola having issues.

If we can get Keenan Allen, GET HIM. This guy plays fluid as a receiver, especially on the YAC department, the only factor holding him back is the system (Pat Shurmur-esque offense) and the team he plays on. He's polished so we won't have to wait a few years to see him blossom like Quick. Hopefully he'll be available within the Top 15 range.

Imagine Welker, Givens, and Amendola lined up at WR. Three pesky guys with speed that can run all types of routes. They may not be big WR's but it would be interesting to see the three mini mites running around.
With that said I would like a big #1 WR to go with Givens and Amendola. I am not sold Quick will ever become that guy.

Re: Which FA WR (other than Danny Amendola) Should The Rams Pursue?
I went with Dwayne Bowe. I feel that a FA Wide Receiver is the best option for this offense. If there was a Julio Jones or AJ Green in this draft then I would prefer that route. However, I look at the WRs coming out of college this year and I feel like the Rams would have to wait for two seasons for that receiver to develop. It is a shame that there isn't more top tier talent coming out of college this year at the WR position. The Rams do not have a lot of cap space this offseason and adding Bowe would eat heavily into what money the team does have to spend.
I think Bowe makes more sense then all the others on the list for a variety of reasons. While Jennings might be more talented than Bowe, I would rather go with the guy who is younger even if it is just a year. I think Wallace is a talented receiver, and is younger than Bowe, but I think he will demand more money. Jennings might come the cheap but I believe that would be due to injuries, and I don't like the idea of paying a man to watch the team play on the sidelines. Welker would also cost alot and the reaming players on the list don't excite me at all. Bowe would give the Rams an impact receiver right away who would allow the Rams' other receivers to get open. While he does drop passes more than I would like, I do not think it would be so catastrophic that it would outweigh the positives that he would bring to this team.

As long as we dont end up overpaying Dwayne Bowe; We need to score TDs in the red zone so if we decide to add another WR lets get a huge red-zone target remember he caught 15 TDs passes from Matt Cassel as his QB
I think Fisher can make him a motivated contributor

Not exciting, not flashy but I think we are going to build through the draft. I think Amendola and Jackson will be the two biggest off season signings.

I hope not. The two things are not mutually exclusive and most good teams make use of both the draft and free agency.
Signing Wallace or Bowe would immediately improve our receiving corps and turn it from awful just last year to quite formidable. It would also help safeguard us for when Danny, inevitably, gets injured. I just feel like our receiving corps has enough young developmental guys(Quick, Pettis, Givens). I'd rather have a receiver who can come in and immediately be a force. Rather than waiting for one to develop again.

I can't imagine the Rams giving $11 million to a WR. Not with Quick and Givens looking like the starters for 2014.
I think the Rams WRs in 2013 will be:
Givens, Amendola and Quick. They'll sign an aged veteran at some point (like Steve Smith but hopefully one that can produce).

Re: Which FA WR (other than Danny Amendola) Should The Rams Pursue?
you need more receivers than 2 and how could you possibly predict Quick will be a starter? The staff isn't even confident enough to give him snaps over Gibson(who has produced almost nothing for weeks now).
If Wallace stretches the budget too thin we could let Amendola go. Leave Wallace on the outside and have Givens take Amendolas spot. Yeah he might be a bit of a diva but I'll take a 15-16 game a year, 1000-1200 yard diva over a 8-10 games, 700 yards a year hard worker.

Re: Which FA WR (other than Danny Amendola) Should The Rams Pursue?
we don't know the Rams cap situation so I don't see how any of us could say signing a big play receiver will stop us from resigning Jackson.
The only way Jackson comes back is if he takes a reasonable contract. You don't pay 30 year old running backs more than 2-4 million per. Especially when this draft has a ton of good running backs slotted to go rounds 3-5. If Jackson wants 4 million plus I'd rather us just take a running back and sign a receiver.
