Few DEs that could move to SLB.
Of these three guys who would you want to draft and move to SLB the most if it comes down to it?
Mathias Kiwanuka: Height: 6-5 3/4 | Weight: 256 | 40-Time: 4.75

Manny Lawson: Height: 6-5 3/8 | Weight: 241 | 40-Time: 4.43

Don't agree on Tapp and Kiwanuka. Lawson could be a 3-4 outside LB. Not sure he's a 4-3 OLB, though.
Re: Few DEs that could move to SLB.
Lawson has the speed and size to be I think a pretty dominate 4-3 SLB. Thats just me though. I mean he played the Dline and would be used to shedding tackles. thats something that you need to do at the SLB position. He also played DE so he has to tackle players at diffrent angles just like a SLB. So I think he would be a good SLB.
Re: Few DEs that could move to SLB.
Well, he's never played the position before, and its a lot different from being an edge rusher in college, so I wouldn't use a #11 pick to find out if you're right.

I know I wouldn't either I'm just saying if we were to trade down and they were there and we took one who you would rather have. Simple as that. The only player I might use the #11 pick on is Mathias Kiwanuka

sorry AV but he played the position for two years before moving to the d line
Re: Few DEs that could move to SLB.
I'm not sure he's played a strong side LB position in a 4-3 scheme before, and I think most believe he is more of a 3-4 guy.
He just seems like a classic workout warrior type to me. He was fairly productive in college, but not exactly dominant.
I have him as a mid-to-late first round selection. I think #11 would be a reach for him.

Honestly, I think you'd be taking a pretty huge risk counting on a defensive end to move to strong side LB in the 4-3 system. You can make this move more regularly in the 3-4 because of the similar skill sets and their requirements rushing the passer off the edge, but I wouldn't be very confident in taking one to play in the 4-3. Maybe Lawson, but even that's a bit unsettling.
