Hey guys, Fin fan here...
Since our pick will probably have a huge impact on who you draft... I am wondering who you are hoping we will take?
I think we will be one of the Longs. I like Chris the best, but Jake makes more sense for us in terms of need.
Who are you pulling for us to draft #1?

I'm very much hoping that you guys take some random 7th round prospect, but if Parcells decides to be be realistic, I think that Jake Long is the one that makes sense. As I've been saying around here, you guys have picked up a number of linebackers to replace and to get ready for a 3-4. On the other hand, you've released two offensive tackles, and not resigned a free agent. If I'm not mistaken you still only have one or two OT's even on the roster.
Chris Long and Dorsey are higher rated than Jake Long, but I don't think a tackle has ever gotten through college with only two sacks and two penalties before, so he's darn good in his own right. He makes the most sense for you guys as you need a starting tackle and with him you can feel safe moving Carey back to the right side.
Besides, in my opinion, Gholston's the better pick for you if you want an OLB, as he's better suited to it, having played it to some degree in college.

He flashes good leg strength, and although Army didn't ask him to directional punt much, he shows good accuracy in dropping punts inside the 20-yard line.
I doubt there is any chance of this at all but answering your question I hope the Fins take Matt Ryan. That leaves us open to take any of the big 4.

I'd just prefer the Dolphins didn't take Chris Long. I don't think the 3-4 is his best fit anyway (look at his stats the first three years in college versus his fourth year when he played in the 4-3). Jake Long or Matt Ryan would be good additions on the offense, or if you want to go defense, I think Gholston could probably be a great 3-4 linebacker.
Anyone other than chris long is fine with me.

About CLong not being a good fit for a 3-4 b/c of how he played in it in college, he was playing the 5tech as a 3-4 DE, not a 3-4 OLB...
Personally, I feel CLong would be great as a 3-4 OLB... and I really want to draft him. However, I also like Jake...
I hope you guys take Matt Ryan and leave the "big 4" intact. That way no matter who we select at #2 overall, there will be 3 guys left that we didn't take, which of course affords us the opportunity to argue about who we should have taken instead. This should supply us with sufficient fodder to go at it for the rest of the off season, and if we stink again this year .. we can stretch it out over the regular season as well.Quote:

But realistically, anybody but C. Long. He just makes too much sense for the Rams not to draft if he's available, so as long as you guys don't nab him, I think our draft day will start out nicely.
I am a hugh Jake Long fan and think the Rams should make him there pick, only problem with that is you guys are going to take him and it makes sense,so I guess we go with Chris Long,which is a good safe pick for us. Good Luck
Part of me hopes you take Vernon Gholston, so we won't look bad when he turns out to be better than Chris Long.
