Final Beastly Mock Offseason
FA (Whenever it happens)James Anderson, OLB, Panthers- Anderson developed into the great OLB Flajole thought he would be when he was the Panthers LB coach. He would be a great fit at WLB on our defense.
Justin Blalock, OG, Falcons- One of the three starting Falcon lineman who is a free agent. Devaney drafted Blalock who is a guard with good size and is great pass protector and run blocker. He would fill a huge hole at OG.
DRAFT1. Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri

Great fit at RE in the Rams defense centered around pass rushers. He would start off at the third DE behind Hall and Long, but would be the future starter at RE. He has a ton of upside reminds me alot of Simeon Rice. One of the players the Rams brought in for a pre draft visit.
2. Torrey Smith, WR, Maryland

Great value and a great need at this juncture. Smith is a burner and could be the deep threat the Rams are sorely missing. Smith is raw and needs to work on his hands and route running. If he improves in those 2 areas I think he could be a Greg Jennings type of player. If Clayton, Avery, and DX are healthy Smith can start off as a situational deep threat until he develops all facets of his game. WR Coach Nolan worked him out at his pro day.
3. Marcus Gilchrist, DB, Clemson

Gilchrist is a very versatile DB who has experience at both CB and S. Spags loves versatile DBs and Gilchrist is exactly that. He can cover centerfield and is good in man coverage. He is not afraid of contact and can come up and fill from the safety position. He could also be a nickel or a dime corner behind Fletcher and Bartel. The Rams brought Gilchrist in for pre draft visits
4. Alex Green, RB, Hawaii

The Rams have been looking at big physical backs to backup Steven Jackson. Alex Green is exactly that. In a pass heavy offense Green rushed for over 1,000 yards getting double digit TDs and lead the NCAA in yards per carry at 8.2. Green is an experienced catching the ball out of the backfield, good in pass protection, and is also physical bruising runner. He opened eyes at the combine after running in the 4.4's at 230 pounds. He is another guy the Rams brought in for pre draft visits.
5. Martin Parker, DT, Richmond

Parker is a penetrating 3 technique who excelled at the east west shrine game winning defensive MVP. Parker could instantly fit into the Rams rotation at DT that desperately needs some youth injected into it.
7. Ryan Jones, CB, Northwest Missouri State
A local product Jones was one of the best corners if not the best corner in DII. Rams need some depth at corner. Jones is a good developmental prospect who could be our 5th CB/special teamer or play on the practice squad.
7. Daniel Killgore, OG, Appalachian State
Killgore is a physical aggressive guard with a mean streak. He would compete for a roster spot on a Rams offensive line that could use some depth.

Re: Final Beastly Mock Offseason
So if the first two rounds work out, we'll potentially have three Smiths in our starting roster. Love the Gilchrist pick and he can fill in the responsibilities for the nickel package assuming Murphy takes responsibilities in safety or vice versa. Besides the awesome dreads Alex Green has, he has a lot of potential to become a complete successor for Jackson especially with him being mentored by him.
