Chris Long is the go right now.

No love for Jake Long, anyone?

    Re: First 2008 Draft Poll!

I don't think you can justify taking a OT with the second overall pick at this stage in the game. We still have Pace who is an amazing tackle while healthy. I don't believe offensive line is a particular weakness on this team, any team that loses 3/5 (60%) of their O-Line is NOT going to see the same offensive production as they would with a healthy front. PERIOD.

    CHRIS LONG IS THE PICK.

    Re: First 2008 Draft Poll!

    I voted Gholston.

If the Rams end up with the #2 overall pick, the only options should be Gholston, Chris Long, or McFadden.

It's actually refreshing to see nobody has voted for Jake Long as of yet. Maybe there is hope for this forum.

But that shouldn't be much of a surprise. I've yet to hear anyone say Jake Long is their first option.

I'm aware of that. It's a good thing.

I'm guessing his cult hasn't seen the poll yet.

    Re: First 2008 Draft Poll!

For the last three or four seasons, the Rams have needed a stud DE, and have failed to land one in the draft or free agency. This is an opportunity to address this issue. One of the two best DEs in this draft needs to be a Ram, nothing else will do. Heck, I'll compromise, go find a way to get both. :-) I am not disagreable to getting an elite DE in FA, but that is very unlikely to happen, especially with the current team situation, ownership, coaching, front office, record...........

...not to mention an elite DE is going to cost half the salary cap, and theyre all going to be franchised or resigned. Elite Ends are just way too valuable in this league, and we'd be idiotic to pass on the countrys best DE in the draft.

Yeah, it'd be stupid to pass on a top DE, particularly if he represents the best player available. It's likely the BPA will either be McFadden or a DE like C. Long or Gholston when the Rams pick.

I'd say take the best OT available with the 33rd pick. This draft has such a deep class of OL, and i think theres a number of guys that are going to be available that could start from day 1.
