Which free agents should we sign away from the Titans and Saints?

If the Rams hire Fisher's long time friend and defensive coordinator currently with the Saints Gregg Williams. We as Ram fans know too well how this works being through the process so many times recently. The coaches with the connection usually can bring in familiar faces. Which if any of these free agents from the Titans and Saints do you think could land in St. Louis?

Cortland Finnegan (TEN) - Despite some of his dirty tactics as some may call it, Finnegan has been a top 10 corner for much of his career. He's strong in run support and solid in coverage. He lacks ideal size, but is a perfect fit for what the Titans do on the perimeter. There were rumors that Finnegan was displeased with the lack of contract talks coming into the year, which could signal some existing animosity on Finnegan's behalf.

Jason Jones (TEN) - DT - When healthy, Jason Jones is one of the league's better interior pass rushers. He has an explosive first step in getting upfield and disrupting a quarterback's ability to step up into a clean pocket. The Titans have allowed Albert Haynesworth and Jason Babin to leave at the top of their games, but re-signing Jones makes too much sense here.

Aubrayo Franklin (NO) - NT - It was little alarming that Franklin received as little interest as he did this offseason, receiving only a one-year deal from the Saints. He probably won't even garner as much attention as he did last season after moving to a less glamorous 40 front for interior linemen. Depending on his production this year, he could be a nice under-the-radar acquisition.

Michael Griffin (TEN) - There hasn't been a more inconsistent safety in the league over the last couple years than Michael Griffin, who has gone from being Pro Bowl caliber to below average and back up again. Still, he's much stronger than what the Titans have to offer at the safety position beside him, so there's a good chance they'll look to retain Griffin. If history has shown anything in Tennessee, it's that they don't believe in overpaying.

Robert Meachem (NO) - Meachem is one of the younger receivers that could be a nice pick-up for an offense with a larger workload to offer. He's a good downfield threat and has nice instincts in the red zone. Unlike Colston, Meachem is more of a luxury for the offense.

Marques Colston (NO) - When healthy, Colston is a match-up nightmare for any corner. He's an incredibly physical receiver and a sure-handed, polished route runner. When he's available, he brings another dimension to the Saints offense that none of their other talented weapons possess. Though Brees has proven capable of running the offense without him, they're even more dangerous with him.

Carl Nicks (NO) - OG - Nicks is one of the premier guards in the league and after watching Jahri Evans strike a rich deal not too long ago, the Saints may be hard pressed to offer a second guard that type of money, though Nicks arguably had a better season a year ago. If Nicks doesn't put a hometown discount on the table, there's a good chance the market shows him more love than the Saints can afford to show him.

We for one cant afford Nicks. We can basically scratch him off the list. The guy is a top 3 OG in the NFL. I'd LOVE for us to get him though. I'd take any of these guys, I just dont see what all the fuss is about Meachem. He doesn't do anything but 9 routes and is only good because the other 19 weapons D's have to focus on against the Saints.

My realistic top 3: Finnegan, Jones, Franklin.

    Here are the Jets FA

    LaDainian Tomlinson
(NYJ) - Tomlinson has become the prototypical 3rd down back. He's hardly an effective runner anymore, but a reliable pass-protector and a good receiving outlet from the backfield. If the Jets don't give him a return offer, he'll look to bounce to another Title contender.

Sione Pouha (NYJ) - NT - The Jets aren't in a position with great depth in their front 7 where they can afford to allow productive starters to leave. Securing Pouha should be one of the organization's first objectives before they decide how to improve their roster through external acquisitions.

    Plaxico Burress (NYJ)

    Robert Turner (NYJ) - OT

Burress should be on our radar depending on his relationship with Shotty.

Hes a red zone stud that we desperately need.

I'd love to get Pouha and Franklin. We need to stop the run next year.

Jones doesn't make sense to me. A fair number of our current tackles can pass rush, and Bannan lost his ability to stuff the run this past year it seems. Franklin or Pouha are what the doctor ordered at DT. Between Quinn and Long, we have pass rush. What we need is run stuffing.

Also, unless we don't keep Darian Stewart, we don't need a starting safety, only depth. We need starting OLB, NT, WR, OG.
    I believe!

    Finnegan, Franklin, Colston.

However it looks like NO will resign Brees and Colston and let Nicks go. So I will take Nicks instead of Colston

Watch film, not Madden. Franklin is DONE in the NFL.

***** moved on because injuries have ruined him. Saints only used him situationally this year. He would be the equivilant of a Fred Robbins, no thank you.

Jones is a tiny DT. We need to stop the run better than that.

    I love Colston, and Finnegan.

Griffin is known for not playing hard.

Not sure Meachem can succeed outside of NO

Yes, the injury riddled Aubrayo Franklin that missed 0 games in the last 2 years with SF. Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about, no offence. The only reason he plays on occasion with NO is because they have a pro bowl caliber DT in Sedrick Ellis, and Shaun Rogers. He is there to stop the run, so why would they have him out on 3rd and 10?

The only reason the Niners let Franklin go was because of the issues with contract and $$ not because of "injury".

Re: Which free agents should we sign away from the Titans and Saints?

Well I can have input for the Titans players for you guys. TN front office is known for not paying their vets, so these guys could likely be snatched away.

Finnegan - 90% of the fans want him back, if the price isn't stupid crazy. He's our defense captain, and one of few leaders we have in the locker room. He brings a mean streak and emotion to our D. Cortland loves TN (so he says), and he's obviously our best defensive player. He is 27, but has another 4+ years at a high-level.

JJ - 50/50 on him. He was recently switched to DE, which most fans wanted... and it really didn't work out. Our current scheme has our DEs as more of "run supporters" than "pass rushers". He was a solid DT, and just needed to add a few more pounds. He's been banged up almost his entire career. Needs to move back to 43DT, and put some more weight back on that he lost this year. He's always had potential, but has yet to "break out".

Griff - Not many people want him back. VERY inconsistent, soft tackler, and average at coverage. Our pass-rush was terrible this year, and linebackers were led by two rookies and washed up Witherspoon. So he was put in alot of 1v1 vs a runningback, or suspect to coverage for additional time. With all that being said, he's been overrated his entire career, and is just average. Doesn't make impact plays. He'll likely want a paycheck, not sure if TN will give it to him.
