Perhaps, perhaps not. They can't keep selecting second day offensive lineman and expecting them to be eventual starters for years to come. While those players provide nice depth, I'd like to see the Rams take Brown in round one, even if it means him sitting for some of 2005, because of the future stability he'd provide.

Though I wouldn't be disappointed if we went DB in round one and tried to get an OT in either round two or three. I just don't think our RT/LG answers are going to be found on day two, which is where it seems this club likes to look.

Look at the preliminary line-up.

    LT: Pace
    LG: Saipaia
    C: McCollum
    RG: Timmerman
    RT: Tercero

Back-ups: Rookie G, Rookie T, Larry Turner, Darnell Alford, Grant Williams

You've got Turner who can back-up both guards and McCollum, Alford who can back up the guards, Williams who can back up both tackles, the rookie tackle who we'll assume can back up Tercero, and the rookie guard who can back up both guards. Again, as long as we aren't plagued by the injuries we saw last season, I think we'll be okay with a ten man offensive line unit. It's when we start getting into injuries that we need to look at more bodies.
good points, but personally, i'd like to see alford and williams supplanted by veterans that can play effectively for short periods, meaning stretches of several games, in case timmerman and tercero have tough times coming back from surgeries...not to mention if saipaia struggles big time at LG...and knock on wood, who backs up pace if he goes down for a short stretch...?

perhaps i'm being presumptuous about alford's demise, but being as that he couldn't crack the lineup at any point in last years o-line shuffle i'm unsure about his value...

And what if those veterans have problems with our system, like Wohlabaugh and Turley did in their first year? Is it still advantageous to have vets over guys like Williams and Saipaia, who have been in our system?

I would imagine Williams, who actually hasn't looked half bad when he's been required to fill in for Pace at LT. It's not a situation we would be pleased about, but that's what it is, and I don't think you're going to find a June veteran on the cheap that's going to be better.

I know I'm one to talk (my own Rams projections were a little liberal with availability), but I think these three are probably gone by the time we get to these spots.....but don't get me wrong, I like the selections.

I'd make this trade if it meant we could get Jammal Brown and Brodney Pool.

    ZigZagMan's Final Projection:
    Round 1 Jammal Brown, OT
    Round 2 Josh Bullocks, FS
    Round 3 Antonio Perkins, CB
    Round 3 Chris Kemoeatu, OG
    Round 4 James Sanders, SS
    Round 4 Jonathan Pollard, LB
    Round 5 Nick Kaczur, OT
    Round 6 Timmy Chang, QB
    Round 6 Albert Means, DT
    Round 7 Steve Fleming, TE
    Round 7 Alex Haynes, RB
    Round 7 Issa Bana, FB
