Why is Bulger going to be gone? Thanks to the illustrious efforts of our former President and current Consultant John Shaw as one of the NFL's chief CBA negotiators, the salary cap is no longer an issue, (although it never would have been this offseason) and Bulger has too many financial reasons to keep playing. If we can't secure a better player than Bulger, and odds are we won't (rookies excepted because we should let them sit while we build the rest of the team) we might as well keep him.

i think i said this before, but basically this has nothing to do with football and everything to do with money. bulger makes a hell of a lot of money and hasn't really produced lately, and isn't getting any younger, which means if the year goes uncapped (and it almost certainly will) they'll take the opportunity to cut that money without penalty and they won't think twice about it.

Spags doesn't deny interest once again and speaks how he RESPECTS Vick.

Mmmm, a bit misleading.

When Spags talked about his respect for Vick, he said he respected Michael "as a player," that he thinks "he's a terrific player," and that what he's heard out of the Eagles organization has been "kind of good."

In comparison, when he talked about Bulger, he said he has "a lot of respect for him" and that Marc is "a good man."

If these quotes are going to be examined, then I think it's interesting that he'd make a distinction between talking about respecting Marc as a man, while referencing Vick as a player.

Either way, nothing about adding Vick really scares me. It would simply disappoint me. Especially if the team continued to sell everyone the "Four Pillars" standards for their roster.

Not if your QB alternatives are worse. Devaney has mentioned in that recent interview that was posted that the chances of the Rams finding a new starter in free agency are difficult, and of course, the draft situation is completely up in the air.

Money is not a factor in this decision.

I think this thread should read, Be scared Rams fans Vick might be your qb. Vick is a runningback not a qb. We have a stud runningback and dont need an inaccurate passer whizzing the ball into the defenders hands. I'll take a pass on Vick.

Agreed. To be successful in the NFL, you need a serviceable THROWING quarterback. Relying on a signal caller to make plays with his feet in certain situations is fine, but that alone will not sustain an offense. Vick's history as a passer and the fact that he hasn't played a full season since 2006 is what scares me about him being the Rams quarterback.
