Hakeem Nicks is a free agent and Giants do not sign him.

As a Rams club do we consider bringing him in to soldify our receiving Corp with a veteran? He has superbowl experience and brings that big play presence.

    Thoughts?

The first question would be price tag. If he is seeking elite money, then someone else can pay him.

The second question is health. He's had a few issues, so I'd want a good physical.

If a healthy Nicks were available at an affordable price, I'd be interested. He will only be 26 when next season starts. My gut, though, tells me he'll be overpriced for what he is and, therefore, not a target for the Rams.

The potential free agent list of WRs this year doesn't really leap off the page, so I think Nicks might see a light market and cash in from a desperate team. Some of the bigger names at WR (potentially) are Golden Tate, Eric Decker, Jeremy Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders, and Julian Edelmen, assuming they all walk. Odds are though, that most resign with their teams, leaving only a couple high value WRs on the market.

He might just price himself out of our range.

I wish the team that does sign him best of luck. He has disappeared on the Giants for long stretches and given little effort when I've seen them play. Of the names I've seen listed as potential FA's this year at WR the only ones I'd be interested in are Decker and Boldin and those depend on price tag. Let our young guys grow with extra snaps. We're already running more plays with 2 or 3 TE's that the WR's aren't getting as many snaps now as they did early in the season. Personally I'd love to see Quick get some more snaps on running downs in a blocking/release type role.

If they could bring in Decker for a (relatively) reasonable amount I think that would be an excellent pick-up for the team. Very good hands and a good route runner.

As someone that lives in New York and is a Giants fan in addition to being a Rams fan (it just happened due to never being able to see Rams games due to local market rules) I would say no way to the Rams bringing him in. He appears to have lost a step and is not the same player he was 2 seasons ago. It might be injuries or something else but something has happened and he will certainly not be a number 1 receiver going forward if he doesn't drastically improve his play somehow.

Didn't the Rams bring in Steve Smith from the Giants? Look how he turned up.

The only thing comparable about the two is that they both played for the Giants. Outside of that, they are nothing alike.
