Handy-Dandy Draft Day Glossery
Here are some helpful definitions of some of the terms you're likely to hear on draft day. Enjoy!
Good Motor: Term used for a player who may not be that big or fast, but tries really hard. Good way for pundits to explain solid performance by a player lacking stellar measurables.
Great Student Athlete: Player who, at some point in college career, was confirmed to have attended a class.
Good Character: Never been arrested on felony charges.
Workout Warrior: Runs like the wind, can bench press a Buick, but, on the field, never actually made a catch or tackle, or scored a TD.
Project: Doubtful that the player will ever amount to anything, but just in case he does, we want to be on record as having said he had potential.
Reach: What!?! They took who? Man, that really screws up my Mock Draft. I better say something derogatory quick!
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!
