Re: Help with Mock Draft
I've thrown myself on the Carriker bandwagon. For all i've read hes got all kinda skill and could play anywhere on the line, plus hes huge and athletic.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
I would either go Okoye or Timmons. I'm just not convinced the value is there for Willis right now, I don't view Johnson as a mid first round prospect, and while I like Carriker as a prospect I'm not sure we're the best fit. In the end at this point, I'd probably go Timmons.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
Patrick Willis as long as he can convert to a Strongside Linebacker, next I'd go with Lawrence Timmons.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
I love Amobi, but that might be to big of a risk. I've got it down to Timmons and Willis, and I'll go with Timmons

Re: Help with Mock Draft
If the big boy from Nebraska runs well (4.7-4.8) I would have no problem having him line up for St. Louis.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
Okoye, he is raw but at 19 you can't go wrong, he is very talented, and the only way this kid is going is UP and thats exactly what we need for a DT for the Rams...pick this guy!

Always and Forever a fan of the St. Louis Rams

Re: Help with Mock Draft
I picked Okoye, partly because of personal bias (I love Louisville), and partly because I have watched all of his games. As Varg6 mentioned, he is young and very bright. I envision him putting on some more weight in the near future. As someone else mentioned in another thread, you don't have to be 350 lbs to make a tackle. Okoye has shown the ability to overwhelm linemen and get to the qb/make the tackle.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
Tank Johnson plays NT for the Bears and is 300lbs, Pat Wiliams of the Vikings is only 317

Re: Help with Mock Draft
The Bears are a Cover 2 team that emphasize speed over size on their line; a Cover 2 nose tackle is still going to be a lighter guy who can move. We need a big hefty space eater.
As for Pat Williams, he said in an August interview that he weighed in at 337 pounds in July, and at that weight he was five pounds over his target. I doubt he plays at 317 even if that's what he's listed as, just as Pisa probably doesn't play at 235.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
The rams do not have the luxury of drafting a pick based on potential. That is why they will not draft Okoye. Simply because they need that first round draft pick to come in and start playing. I say it comes down to Timmons or Willis for the first rounder. Both of them are ready for the NFL. Okoye could be a great player or a bust. As a rams fan I am terrified of drafting a DT in the first round. Get Demarcus Tyler in the second round.

Re: Help with Mock Draft
There is no way that Okoye can play nose at 285. I'm sure he will gain some weight but I don't see him getting any heavier than 300-310. Personally I would love a huge run stuffing tackle. You don't need to be 330 to tackle but it definetly helps to occupy tacklers. Which is especially important to us when you consider how small our linebackers are.
