    It's a multi-year pact.

    It's a one year deal.

Henry Melton - DL - Cowboys

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports Henry Melton's deal is a one-year contract that turns into a four-year agreement if he's on the Cowboys' roster the first day of the 2015 league year.
Per Garafolo, more guaranteed money will also kick in if Melton survives through the first day of the next league year. It's creative structuring that could pan out in a big way for the Cowboys if Melton bounces back from his torn ACL for a strong 2014.

Would have been nice for the right price, but personally I'm pretty happy with our DL rotations.

I'm more concerned that we haven't done anything in the secondary. My guess is that Fisher thinks that our new DC Williams will address concerns there and we have decent talent there, and that we'll be using a draft pick or two to upgrade/supplement.

Was worried if we signed him we wouldn't take Clowney if available at #2...

I'm surprised he left Dallas in the first place. He's from there, he grew up there, he has a house there. Dallas only made sense.

its funny how perceptions ebb and flow.
Prior to the Melton signing, here in Dallas it was doom and gloom. Radio personalities were saying the the Cowboys are having a fire sale to get rid of bad cap space in order to completely re-tool the team for the 2015 season.

Now with the Melton signing they are talking of the next Jimmy Johnson era-like Cowboys. The feel that now with that 1 signing, they are loaded for the next 4 years with Bryant, Fredericks, and Romo and Melton as the nucleus that is akin to Aikman, Irvin, and Smith.
