How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
" Not crazy RT @GeoffMosherCSN Crazy thought but with 2 first-round picks would make sense for Rams to give up one of them to sign Victor Cruz "
- Ian Rapoport
The Giants will tender Victor Cruz at a first rounder. If we are willing to part with a first rounder (also sign Cruz to a new deal) we'd land one of the best receivers in the league.
What do you guys think? I'd rather have Cruz over Wallace, Bowe, and Jennings, but it'd also cost a 1st.

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
I would rather have Wallace and my picks vs Cruz and have to give up both.

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
That's the discussion...
In 2 years Cruz has 2,628 yards, 168 receptions, 15.6 average, and 19 TD's. He is arguably a top 10 if not top 5 WR. He can actually run a complete route tree, he can line up in the slot or outside and do both effectively. He has also been in big games before (the SB).
I may be inclined to do it. And yes, he would be just as pricey.. The only difference is he is better than Wallace, Bowe, and even Jennings, so he IS worth the money.

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
Even if I did consider Victor Cruz one of the best receivers in the league, I'd still have absolutely no interest in giving up a mid-first round pick AND paying him $10-11 million per year on a contact extension. That makes absolutely zero sense to me.

This is gonna sound like a broken record, but I'd rather have the multi-demensional Tavon Austin for a fraction of the cost that it'll take to sign Victor Cruz.

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
He sounds like an expensive investment. That said, I wouldn't discount it. I don't think that it would be possible that we could get a sign and trade deal for #22, as the Giants would want to keep him and would force us to send the #16 to them.
As a practical matter, for those wanting a 1st round WR should be jumping on this idea. For me, I actually like it. Since this is his first big time deal, it's very possible that we could get him to a 5 year deal that is cap friendly. He's got the experience that I crave at the position and is a young but proven talent. I'd do what we could to try to make a trade for #22 work though, so that we can get one of the top O-lineman at #16.
I can't believe it, but yes, I'd take a WR with a first round pick!I believe!

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
For the Rams this is a case of giving away 1st rounder and 10 mill so its like
Victor Cruz
or
Danny Amendola, William Hayes, and (Kenny Vaccaro, Warmack, Patterson, or anyone else available at 16)

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
It is a sure thing... I call his agent and say how much does he want? 15 per... Done get him on a plane.
That's not a crazy idea it's a bad idea. There is way too much value in a first round pick, You could have a starter for four years dirt cheap vs over paying in free agency. Seems like every starter that's a FA wants 8 million plus these days.

Re: How Does Victor Cruz Sound?
Although I do love Cruz I'd have to say no... I'd rather have our 2 first rounders and whatever money we can open up to pursue a FA or two and load up with CHEAP, YOUNG talent.
