Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
God I hope this never happens!!!
from ESPN (Insider? or clown) McShay:drunk: :
11. St. Louis Rams (6-10)
Top five needs: CB, OG, TE, LB, S
The pick: Jay Cutler, QB, Vanderbilt
The Rams are fully capable of making this surprise pick. The team has other more pressing needs, but drafting a quarterback of the future will be too big a temptation to pass up. New head coach Scott Linehan is an offensive guru, and it is rumored that he likes Cutler as a fit for his system. Furthermore, Marc Bulger is brittle, and the team needs a better contingency plan than QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.

BULGER IS BRITTLE. NO QB could take the BEATING THAT MAN HAS TAKEN. ESPN is becoming a total joke.
30th ranked DEFENSE with a young top 10 QB and we take a QB??
BRILLIANT!
This is biggest load of CRAP since Dinosaurs walked the EARTH!!!!

Bulger is brittle? WTF?
Bulger's injuries are nothing to do with being 'brittle'. Id like to see that ESPN guy get Bryant Young blocked into him by Grant Williams, and then have Williams top it off by falling on him.
Im so glad Alex Barron is a Ram now.

Re: Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
I believe all these predictors are still under the influence of Martz's emphasis for offense and love of quarterbacks. While I truly believe the Rams will not take Cutler, I'll probably be screaming at the TV when it happens April 29th.
I have a headache!

Re: Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
I dont mind using a middle round pick on a QB to develop, but there is no point using a first rounder if we have a QB capable of playing for another 5 years at the very least

Re: Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
He may be capable, and maybe not. However, it's all about economics and Bulger's contract is up after 2007. Hey, I'm all about taking Michael Huff but if Huff, Hawk, Davis, and everyone else is gone by then....take the best available.

Re: Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
And therein lies the question. Who has to be gone to make Cutler our BPA?if Huff, Hawk, Davis, and everyone else is gone by then....take the best available.
For me....Hawk, Mario, Huff, Bunkley, Ngata, and Sims would all have to be gone before I would even consider the option of Cutler."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Idiot Mock Draft...ESPN
Right. And the mathematics are very simple here. If there are 11 players better than Cutler, then he can't possibly be the BPA at pick 11.
