If big 4 gone who do we draft
I have a sinking feeling that the big 4 are going to be gone before the Rams draft:
1. Mario Williams
2. AJ Hawk
3. Vernon Davis
4. Mike Huff
I think if any of these 4 are there at 11 it is a no brainer. However, if not, who do you suggest the Rams draft?
I don't how to do a poll.
Jimmy Williams, CB, Greenway LB, Ngata DT, Bunkley DT,
Sims LB, Tye Hill CB, or Pope TE?

I would definitely go with Jimmy Williams. In fact, I'd take Williams over Davis.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
As of right now, Jimmy Williams. If he has a good pro day, Chad Greenway is back in the equation, IMO. Ngata is also a consideration if he's still available, because you could easily make the case that he'd be the BPA.
I think it's too early for Bunkley, too early for Sims, too early for Pope, and just a tad too early for Tye Hill (though he's the closest of the four mentioned names in terms of value, IMO).

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
Ramhard, the scenario you mention could be a blessing in disguise. In order for the players you list to be gone by the time the Rams select would mean that either one or both of the QBs (Young and Cutler) has dropped. The Rams could then command a premiim to be payed for a team to trade up to pick a potential franchise qb. Teams like Miami or Denver who have got to do something about the qb position. Ex: Miami trades the 16th pick and their 3 & 4 rounders to the Rams for our 11th.
This could be a good deal for us.

I'd take Ngata.

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
It may be a little too early at #11 but I really think Ernie Sims and Manny Lawson are going to make a couple of teams very happy. I wouldn't mind seeing the Rams trade down pick up one of these guys.

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
I would take Davis over Williams, and i would take Greenway still. I think the guy is just a football player, he seems to be around the ball, he may not beable to get faster, but he can get stronger.I would definitely go with Jimmy Williams. In fact, I'd take Williams over Davis.

Not necessarily Ramarkable .. here is one Mock from an online source
Ramarkable I hope you're right because given the depth at need positions in the draft a trade down would work, but here is one mock draft where the big 4 and the big 3 in QB's are all gone by #11.
1. HOUSTON TEXANS
REGGIE BUSH
2. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
MATT LEINART
3. TENNESSEE TITANS
VINCE YOUNG
4. NEW YORK JETS
JAY CUTLER
5. GREEN BAY PACKERS
A.J. HAWK
6. SAN FRANCICSO 49'ERS
D'BRICKASHAW FERGUSON
7. OAKLAND RAIDERS
MARIO WILLIAMS
8. BUFFALO BILLS
WINSTON JUSTICE
9. DETROIT LIONS
MICHAEL HUFF
10. ARIZONA CARDINALS
VERNON DAVIS

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
Ramhard, the mock you quote has possibilities; but I totally disagree with Arizona taking Davis at #10 for several reasons.
1.) Denny Green has had 2 losing years in a row and absolutely must win this year. Therefore he needs to select a player that can be impact right now---somebidy like Deangelo Williams.
2.) Green is a lot like Martz in that he has never utilized the TE position in the passing game. Denny would much rather go with 3 WRs and since he has 3 excellent ones he really doesn't need Davis.
3.) Forget about J.J. Arrington as a starter this year. The Cards need production from the running game to keep the pressure off Warner and someone like LenDale White would bring a lot more to the table than Arrington who looks more like a 3rd down back anyway.
4.) Green has a track record of drafting RBs in the first round like Robert Smith and Mike Bennett. He has never drafted a TE in the first round to my knowledge.
Well at any rate we will soon see what happens.

Re: If big 4 gone who do we draft
I think we drafted Lewis, Kennedy, and Philips based on value and need. I think you draft for need in Rd 3 and thereafter. We should take the best available athlete in rounds 1 and 2.:football:
