ANDRE SMITH he is a start but we would still have a long way to go.

I'll go against the crowd and go with Oher. Oher IMO is the perfect LT, dare i say it he is eerily similar to Pace. Oher has better feet and longer arms. Smith is powerful and a mauler, but he has a short and squatty build, that may be better suited at guard. I think they will both end up being dominant players, but I Oher will be more dominat at LT while Smith may be dominant at a position besides LT like a Steve Hutchinson type at guard.
I think there is some wisdom in your analysis......

    the way I see it:

Andre Smith is a little bit more of a known quantity and for that he is ranked ahead of Michael Oher. I think Oher has a better body suited for left tackle and probably has a higher upside than Andre Smith - but Smith is probably a more ready prospect for now.

The other checkmark in Andre Smith's column is his off the field, from all indications checks out very clean. Michael Oher came from the troubled family and has an inspirational story - but I believe he has some type of learning disability (which he has fought through somewhat).......I think the general "feeling" is that Michael Oher is a great guy but maybe there are some concerns there just from the background.......

I think its 50/50 that Michael Oher could be the better player in 3 years - but also a bigger bust factor - which will tip the scales to Andre Smith. Teams are very wary to invest $30-$40 million in a rookie with any type of maturity or off the field concerns......Just ask Arthur Blank

Honestly, I'm going with Oher. Andre Smith could prove me wrong and turn out the better OT, but I'm not yet sold on him being quick on his feet for weighing so much. Let's say he isn't so quick, he could end up playing guard. However, If for some reason both aren't available because we win a game and pick third, I would not pick Euguene Moore or the kid from Baylor. IF Oher and Smith are taken, then let's go defense.

I agree with you on that, to many teams reach for picks, take the best player there or move down and get more picks.
