If Clowney goes No. 1, and the Rams stay at No. 2, they SHOULD take...

I'm going to post two companion polls.

Both will assume (1) that Jadeveon Clowney is selected with the first pick, and (2) that the Rams stay at No. 2.

This is the "who do you think the Rams SHOULD take" poll.

I am also going to post a "who do you think the Rams WILL take" poll.

It will be interesting to see how the results compare.

Greg Robinson. We are in a good position to let him play guard (and benefit from day 1) and then let our good line coach groom him into the LT heir after Long.

I prefer Robinson over Matthews as I like so see Stacy run behind him J but also because I believe that we have the luxury of not needing him to be a starting LT from day one (even if Long it not back from day one Saffold could fill in). Therefore, I am willing to take the risk on him due to the higher potential selling.

But I will not cry if we end up with Matthews or any of the other in the top 5, Mack maybe being the only one that I do not see to fit in + I am skill afraid that he could end up being Curry 2.0….

Robinson tangibly helps makes 6 players better: Long, Bradford, Stacy, Cook, Austin & other receiver.

I think Taylor Lewan could be an option at #2. I think he will go before J.Matthews and may be a better LT option in the long term for The Rams than Robinson

If we take a Tackle I really hope it is Robinson. If we move down I will be good with Matthews.

Lewan is so stiff, he bends at the waist and gets best easily when he does that. He's also too slow with his feet. Lewan might need more coaching than Robinson. Couple that with his off field issues and I hope the Rams don't even have him on their board.

I honestly don't even know who I want them to take anymore. My minds changed too many times.

Pushing the draft back a month has given me way to much time to think about and anticipate it, and now I'm going insane.

    One wore week....

This was a hard one to pick. I went with Jake Matthews in the WILL poll and was torn between Robinson, Watkins and Matthews on this one. I selected Watkins just because we should add a legitimate threat on the outside to give DC's something to lose sleep over before playing us. I seriously doubt we'll take Watkins as there is a preference for Evans due to his size. Also #2 may be a bit high to select a WR.

My feelings about Robinson are centered on his freakish size and strength. Whatever skills need coaching we have the best OL coach to resolve that so no worry there. He could be the next Orlando Pace for us. Having said this, we should take Matthews if the team feels he's the safer choice and has the versatility to play other spots on the line.

I'm with FestusRam, my mind is spinning from all this, just stage the draft and let's get on with life. That way we can analyze the picks to death.

    Go Rams!

If I can't trade the pick then I don't hesitate and grab Mack.

It is rare to find a player at any position on draft day who is a sure plug-in and play guy; let alone at a position of need. Greg Robinson may turn out to be an excellent player, but we have already drafted enough projects! Matthews having had the luxury of being coached by his Hall of Fame dad throughout his entire upbringing, can play any position on the line. He will be a cornerstone on our line for 10+ years. Jake Matthews received my vote.

Went both Will and Should with Robinson. Matthews might be more polished now, but Robinson is the better athelete. As I mentioned in the other post he can play OG for the first couple seasons while polishing his pass protection skills and using his manmower ability to clear lanes for Stacey. Got sick of seeing way too many times our RBs getting knocked back at the line with no holes at all.

I reversed my own course and went with Watkins despite the fact I've been on the Matthews train for a bit. I'm still concerned about Watkins routes, but we've had a pretty miserable WR corp for a long time. Austin is nice, but he's not a #1 type receiver. If Watkins can be, then he'd open up a lot of the offense, including for Austin.
