Hi guys I'm new on the forum so I'd like to say hi and ask what everyone thinks if Detroit dosen't go with Stafford. Is this the type of kid we take and start building our future? Let your opinions fly....

Your three picks are all quality guys. Up till yesterday I was hoping for Crabtree but now Curry looks to be a very interesting choice. Thanks..
No problem, and I was a HUGE Pro-Crabtree person as well, however after this injury I am not so confident on us drafting him and Curry wasn't really on my radar until after this phenominal combine showing. But I still honestly wouldn't mind us drafting MC Hammer from TTech
Everything I see on Crabtree consists of his physical play and not so much his speed. The thing that concerns me most is he's only 6'1". Physical receivers sould be taller in my book. What do you think?
agreed...i wanted him because i thought he would be a Fitz-esque playmaker 6-3 and a physical reciever but after being 2 inches shorter then what i originally thought, that also made me second guess the Crabtree pick even more which upsets me because I wanted him
Then neither do we.Quote:

Welcome aboard.
I can't see us pulling the trigger on a QB in the first, for the above stated ($$$) reasons.
Make mine J. Smith/Curry/Monroe/Crabtree :D
Welcome aboard, new myself (to posting, long-time lurker)
If they do they better not take Curry.
Welcome, jrf. I think you can remove the word "if" from your statement. At this point I do not see the Lions going for Stafford or any QB for that matter. This draft is fast becoming a 2 man contest between Jason Smith and Aaron Curry. I see Detroit taking one of those two and then the Rams will select the other.
WHAT SAY YE?
Stafford IMO was a system QB. I don't think he is going to make it at the pro level. I have the same opinion about Sanchez and his 16 starts.
NO!!!!!!!!!!
The :helmet: have to many holes in the D-line and O-line to worry about a QB in the 1st round. I didn't even mention the LB & SS positions. Maybe both QB's (Stafford, Sanchez) fall in the Draft. Sanchez hurt himself by having a bad showing at combine. I still like QB T. Brandstater in the 5th. A big kid with big arm from a prostyle offence (Fresno St.).
firstly ..welcome to the board
secondly..no to stafford..my bosses name is Matt Stafford btw..he`s a reasonable dude but ya know..not enough for us to pick his namesake 2nd overall in the draft!:D
thirdly...another Rams fan from New Jersey?? wow...if it werent for The Soprano family we could say the Rams fans family run the state!
To paraphrase Tony the "Mimbo" from Seinfeld, I don't get no ruuuuuush from Stafford. Seems to me that he is a Top 5 pick because of his reputation and the fact that this is a QB weak draft. His performance at Georgia did not impress me.
