Interesting note from Randy Karraker on the Armey interview
On why he didn't ask Armey about the various defensive tackle prospects:
Quote:
"Unfortunately, I had already exceeded my time limit for the interview by four minutes...and since I know the Rams aren't going to take a DT in the first round, I didn't feel like I needed to ask about them. I'm reasonably sure Charley talked about the Rams first round pick today."
The last sentence references the discussions on Huff, Young, Cutler, Davis, Hawk, Greenway, Wimbley, Kiwanuka, and Bush.

Other than bush, young, cutler, davis, hawk, and huff; aren't all the others reaches at #11.

For what? We don't know anything for sure until the draft comes.

Maybe, maybe not. The Rams' grade for these players may be different than the "common" opinion. For instance, I remember hearing something about how had the Rams not drafted Kennedy in 2003 they would have taken Boss Bailey with that pick. Bailey ended up lasting until the second round. A reach for us may actually be a great value pick for them, and if the player ends up becoming great, no one will care in the end, I guess.

Because I really don't feel that DL is one of our biggest needs. Be a waste until maybe day 2 or 3rd round.

I'd disagree. Our biggest need is clearly OLB, but after that I'd put DT and TE, then S close behind. It remains to be seen how many more years Glover can perform at a high level. He'll be 32 in July, so I don't think it's too early to be looking for someone to groom as his replacement, and we still don't know how Kennedy will pan out this year. Behind them we have two guys who were undrafted free agents, neither of whom have seen just a whole lot of playing time. Our backups have 7 career tackles between them. If that doesn't constitute a need, what does? I would have much prefered we brought in another veteran, but since we haven't it's still a big need.
Our tight end situation is roughly in the same place: we have a starter who hasn't been spectacular and not a lot behind him. At least at safety we have Chavous, Atogwe, and Carter.

Its pretty amazing how far Kamerion Wimbley has moved up ever since the end of the season. I thought he was going to be an early 3rd to late 2nd round pick; now he has skyrocketd into maybe the first half of the 1st round.
