    A.J. Hawk

O.K. before free agency it was out of the picture to trade up and get Hawk because there were too many glaring holes. How about now?

I don't know about you guys but I think he woud be a pretty good SLB.

I think he is going to be an outstanding player but we would have to give up our first day of the draft to move up to the 5th or 6th spot to pick him,so I say no

True but this draft is pretty deep at linebacker so there are good LB's to be had in the 2nd and 3rd rounds

Hawk is special. We may be able to get him for a 3rd (swap firsts). This guy is real special, I have seen him play.

Unfortunately, there's many teams going after him.. Dennis Green (Arizona), Green Bay, and on and on.. It's been reported that if Houston does trade the first pick, Hawk is one of the players they would target with their new position.

I think Hawk or Ngata will change our DEF immediately and our Defense has Holes.

    M. Huff (safety) is real good and he's going to be a good one for a lucky team, but I don't think he'll have the immediate impact of Hawk or Ngata. Look at Troy Polamula in Pittsburgh, after his first year Steeler fans were yelling BUST.

In reality, we are probably going to have to trade up to get Hawk, Ngata, or Huff.
We are MUCH better off trading up to get one of these 3 than take a player that doesn't work out or turns out to be an okay PRO.

Honestly, as the days go by and I see the Rams addressing the secondary with Brown and Chavous and the D-line with Glover, I really would love to see the Rams land Hawk. Just depends on what we'd give up.

HAWK would be nice but we only have about 5 million, i mean, if we can somehow land him @ 11 then fine, but i dont want it to cause a problem. buy moving up and paying top 5 pick money. but yea i'd like to have him too.

I saw we forget about Hawk because we are not goin to get him. So i say we keep our 11th pich and take Manny Lawson. I know he isnt as good as hawk but he could help us just the same at SLB and on top of that he can be a DE

Well, think of it this way - with fewer picks, less money would have to go to other drafted players. Plus, only the first year of the contract's cap hit has to be below the rookie cap number. Most rookie deals have low initial year salaries, so it really shouldn't be a problem.

At this point, everything I've heard is that 11th overall is pretty high for Manny Lawson. Plus, I don't see Lawson providing the same kind of help at SAM linebacker as an AJ Hawk would, considering Hawk's experience, leadership, and specific skills for the LB position.

People keep bringing up Lawson as an answer, but I've yet to see reasoning as to why he can play OLB in the 4-3. He's a good fit as a pass rushing/blitzing 3-4 OLB, but I don't think he's an ideal SAM linebacker in the 4-3 at all.
