Jackson compensation to high
Quote from ESPN " Talks ended after the Chargers and the unnamed team reached an impasse over trade compensation, according to the source. The exact compensation package San Diego is seeking is unknown, but the team does believe Jackson is a valuable player, so it's no surprise they want a lot in return for him."
What do people think that the un-named team after VJ is the rams and we got priced out due to CHargers wanting a stupid compensation package (2nd+3rd at lowest I would guess, maybe even a 1st)

Re: Jackson compensation to high
I'd do it for a 2nd but not much more
Re: Jackson compensation to high
I read somewhere that they wanted a 2nd this year and a 3rd next year. Now, I have very high hopes for the Rams this year, but I would imagine other teams would still project them to pick in the top 5. That makes the 2nd rounder that much more valuable...
What I don't understand is why they feel they can demand so much. He's now suspended for the first 6 games. He'll probably show up and play just enough to qualify as a year of service time and then be a free agent. What will the Chargers really get out of that? I really doubt he'll play with the same enthusiasm or effort he normally would, not to mention he'll not have played football in however long he holds out for. Suffice to say I really think the Chargers overplayed their hand here

Might not this be a rather back-handed attempt by the Chargers to illustrate to Jackson his actual worth versus Jackson's own perception of it?
Re: Jackson compensation to high
I think jackson is a very good WR but he also has never had a 70 catch season.....His career high was last year at 68 and he wont be topping that this year. Im not putting a Rams 2nd rounder in a deal for him. two 3rd rounders though...
Re: Jackson compensation to high
Thats because he is not that great
Clayton is a better receiver than him IMHO
