The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy to a one-year offer sheet worth the veteran minimum $705,000 plus a $50,000 bonus. The Bears have seven days to match the offer.
Kennedy, a fifth-year player, joined the Bears for the final three games of the 2007 season. He had two tackles in spot duty, but played well enough to merit a second look from the Bears, who were decimated by injuries on the defensive line.
Kennedy is a former first-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams. He was with the Rams when Lovie Smith was the defensive coordinator there.

$50k bonus. when every warm body is getting over paid he gets 50K. Man he should have worked a lot harder when he had the chance.

Re: Jaguars make an offer on Jimmy Kennedy
As depth for them that is not bad, he will fit their system a whole lot better than the cover 2 of Lovie Smith.

I hope he gets signed there. He'd be a good back up.

Re: Jaguars make an offer on Jimmy Kennedy
Why do people sign him? Because at one time he had first round talent. They hope that he magically turns it back on.

Jaguars sign former Rams Kennedy
I see the Jags signed Jimmy Kennedy. What a waste of a 1st round pick. Do you think he will turn it around in Jacksonville?

thats the draft for you,you never really know until they hit the field for real, and no I don't think he will make any sort of impact with the Jaguars.

I remember when we drafted him in 03. I really thought he was going to develop into a future pro bowler for us. Big disappointment.

They're in for a shock in Jacksonville, from the dominant force of Marcus Stroud to the not-so-much dominant force of Jimmy Kennedy. Lucky devils
