Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett in 2011
The Rams need to take care of business, pick Suh this year and start building a dominating defense. That said I believe next season we will be picking again in the top five. If so, who would you take as your future franchise QB? Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett and why?

So we're going to be faceless for the future another whole season? Sounds smart.

Re: Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett in 2011
Not taking a franchise QB just does not seem like a smart idea. Our defense isn't THAT bad, they can keep us in the game for 3 quarters or so..then they wear out, but that's because our Offense isn't on the field very long. In this draft we need to load up on the Offensive side of the ball.

I'm not willing to presume that the Rams will again be in the Top 5 selections next year.

Re: Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett in 2011
If we go as some have suggested a ball pounding defensive team then a QB could wait I guess, but FA needs to be where we get a QB IMO. There are teams that compete without a franchise QB and is the team ready to get one at this point? Especially when there isnt a TOP NOTCH QB ready to be takin 1rst OA.
Jake Locker 2011, lets get the team ready for him.Last edited by dave626; -01-20-2010 at 04:43 PM.

Re: Jake Locker or Ryan Mallett in 2011
Your still taking a risk with Suh...you still have to HOPE that he becomes a player you can build around. Just because he's dominant in college FB does NOT mean he will be that dominant in NFL. Could he be? Yes, but lets wait till he at least plays a down in the NFL before we say that we're going to build our Defense around him because for all we know, he could end up being a bust too.

Watching Locker as a junior, I thought he had it all. He's not completely polished, but he should be after his senior year. Good size, strong, tough, skilled, athletic and smart, I would take him in a heartbeat if he was available in 2011. Well worth the wait IMO.
