Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
I read something two days ago about Jason Jones having some kind of injury and how no team offered him more than a two year contract. I thought it was ridiculous and that he would still end up with a 4 or 5 year contract based on his performance. Now I believe it. I wonder what the Rams offered comparatively.

Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
I think the writing was on the wall, once he left Rams Park for the Shehawks facility. SHAME.

Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
There must have been something the Rams saw... I think we took a pass I can't believe we would have only offered him a one year deal.

Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
unless we were worried he'd sit on the IR all year. Players get paid on the IR, we wasted a LOT of money on guys who didn't play last year, PLUS we had to pay their medical bills. Even on a one year deal, we get to pick up all that tab if he doesn't play. That might be a bit of a financial decision over a football one.

Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
Maybe he wanted to play DE more than DT?
Or maybe he wanted to play on a one year deal so he can get big money next year?

Re: Jason Jones sign with Seattle
The Seahawks' one-year deal with Jones pays him $4.5M fully guaranteed with another $500k in performance incentives this year. Jim Thomas said on Twitter that was more than the Rams were willing to do on a one-year deal, which is what Jones prefered. Howard Balzer said he's heard health wasn't a issue with Jones.
