I think that this could be a great signing.... if we have to money and the balls.
Here's the article....

Re: Jennings looking to leave the Pack
So we go from..
Your title: "Looking to leave the Pack"
Article title: "Seems ready to part"
Kind of misleading, no?
To get back on track, I wouldn't mind going after Jennings at all. I think he'll be the cheapest top tier WR, so he may be the most realistic. I think his addition would give a terrific boost for this offense, especially on 3rd down.

Re: Jennings looking to leave the Pack
I would rather have D.Bowe....but anyone that can really play the WR spot can help

Re: Jennings looking to leave the Pack
Thing is, he's getting "released" because he's older and the Pack have three amazing young receivers already locked up in Nelson, Jones, and Cobb. They also have some young guy that hasn't even been on the field, if memory serves. And that's before they have a chance at free agency and the draft.
Driver is probably retiring and Jennings is free. I definitely think that he'll be cheaper than Wallace or Bowe(our usual suspects) and other than worrying a bit about him getting nicked up, I'd put him at the top of my list. Bowe is inconsistent and Wallace is probably staying in Pittsburgh. Jennings is reliable and is a good #1 guy.I believe!

Re: Jennings looking to leave the Pack
Based on what I read about our FA $, we may be channeling our WR $ into re-signing Amendola. We have less than $2 million under the cap currently. Now that's before we likely cut/restructure Wayne Hunter or Quintin Mikkell. I'm not too confident that we're going to spend as much as we have been thinking on top tier FA's. We also may want to re-sign Bradley Fletcher at CB. Sorry to spoil anyone's shopping excursion.
Go Rams!

Re: Jennings looking to leave the Pack
I said much the same when it came to paying for Cortland Finnegan last year, mde. There's alwasy a way. We can redo a number of contracts to pay bonuses now and move the cap cost over the rest of the life of the contract(such as Long and JLau).
The question does come down to, however, whom will we spend the money on? A WR? Amendola? Jackson? There's hard questions to be answered and decisions to be made.
We won't draft an early round WR because that's just chasing our tail. We drafted an early rounder last year who we knew would be raw. He's still learning. Any game changing guy we draft this year would likely be raw as well. Certainly raw to the NFL. Givens was a surprise, but he's still learning as well. What I feel we need is a veteran receiver who can still start, but isn't going to be a cap hit so big that we can't do anthing but start him. If Givens and Quick are starting worthy next year, but we sign Dwayne Bowe... who is on the bench in 2 receiver sets? At the same time, we need to let our young receivers grow and learn and get reps so that they can start.I believe!
