If the Rams are still interested, they can have him for 13 games this year.
I'd say the Rams interest would probably tick up with that, seeing as they know he won't be gone for the whole season.
Surprised it wasn't longer.
I don't think he provides all that much........but then again we ain't got all that much.
If I were the Rams, or any other NFL team, and if I were Simpson, I would wait until after the draft.
If the Rams pick up multiple WRs in the draft, they won't need Simpson
If the Rams pick up multiple WRs in the draft, Simpson won't want to come here because of the lack of playing time.
It used to be that WRs didn't start really performing until season 3.
Simpson was drafted in 2008, his 3rd season was 2010 and he didn't make the starting lineup.
In 2011 he had 16 games, 50 receptions and 14.5 ypc.
For a 26 year old kid just entering his prime, I'd consider him a great alternative. If they draft Blackmon, they need speed on the other side, Simpson would provide that. If they draft Floyd, Salas and Pettis probably provide the alternative.
Simpson has signed with the Vikings. Topic over!
No great loss. Remember Simpson has 1 strike on him. Next time the suspension gets longer and after that it's a whole season. The silver lining to this might be that we no longer have to worry too much about the Vikings selecting Justin Blackmon at #3 as has been rumored over the past few days.
Go Rams!
Well, if we weren't going to sign him this is the team I wanted to sign him because I think this greatly decreases any chance of them taking Blackmon.
