I am actually quite happy about this. When I heard we bought in Cotchery and Simpson for visits, I was hoping that we signed Simpson over Cotchery. I thought this because I think Cotchery is just an older version of the other WRs we have, whereas Simpson represents something we don't have...an Athletic vertical threat. I would be very pleased with our WRs if we drafted Blackmon and signed Simpson. Simpson is a very serviceable #2.

So I take this news happily, as I thought we would only sign one of these two, not both, if we were gonna even sign any.

Just finish your sentence Jerome and come to the Lou haha.

So if we sign Simpson, how do you see the Rams depths chart at receiver?

    I suppose I would say:

    WR1- Blackmon
    WR2- Simpson/Smith
    Slot- Amendola/Smith/Salas/Pettis
    WR4- Alexander/Salas/Pettis

I would feel fairly comfortable with a lineup of even Blackmon, Simpson, Amendola and Smith on the field in four receiver sets. Also Salas is a good player too.

    Just my opinion though.

He'd be the #1 receiver seeing that he's an experienced, deep threat receiver. Getting Blackmon would make a lot of sense if we sign Simpson seeing that he can work on stretching the field while Blackmon makes those short yardage catch and YAC.

Interesting: I was curious which players the Rams will cut, Gibson, Alexander, Curry, Pettis? Not sure the Rams will carry seven.

I'm hoping we draft two outside receivers Blackmon and Randle.

I'm ready to part ways with Gibson, Alexander, Curry.

    1) Blackmon
    2) Randle
    3) Amendola
    4) Salas
    5) Pettis
    6) Smith

My take: Smith and Alexander are going to have to battle it out in camp for the sixth spot, if they both look good. Pettis may find himself having to over come the suspension he's facing and he's also in a log jam at slot.

I'm not sure there is any FA that we could add this late that would be a huge upgrade from what we already have.. It's going to be fun to watch this position again this year in camp anyways.

I felt the EXACT same way. Couldn't have said it any better myself.
