Jets Looking to Move CB Darrelle Revis
" CBS' Jason La Canfora reports the Jets will "explore" Darrelle Revis' trade market.According to La Canfora, owner Woody Johnson has "strong reservations" about the team's ability to extend Revis beyond the final year of his contract next season, and wants to "attempt to land value for Revis now, rather than risk losing him" in free agency. It's a sign the Jets are dead serious about rebuilding and addressing their cap issues, but it would be strange timing to trade Revis, as he's coming off a torn ACL. Selling low on your best player isn't recommended in any sport. However, a clause in Revis' contract bars the Jets from using the franchise tag, so the danger of losing him next winter is real. Even coming off a major knee injury, interest in Revis should be robust if he's truly made available. "
The question is do we pounce on the best CB in the entire league? It may be hard to work the cap, but he damn sure is worth one of our extra first rounders.

Re: Jets Looking to Move CB Darrelle Revis
No for a number of reasons. The first being that I have a strong feeling that Revis would like to go to the highest bidder in free agency. Hence the "no tag clause". Second, the Rams are already set at CB. Sure it would be nice to have him too, but those are precious cap dollars that would pull from signing a real need. Third, Rams aren't in a "win now" mode, and trading a first-round pick for a rental player wouldn't be worth it. Heck I wouldn't trade a 7th for him with the state of the Rams and the contract he'll be looking for..

Re: Jets Looking to Move CB Darrelle Revis
I think you're overlooking the possibility that, while rehabing, he rediscovered his pure love for the game, and now is willing to play for the league minimum.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

I couldn't even do it in Madden this year, they resigned him. I was totally bummed out. I can see why you wanted to talk about it. I'm here for you, man.

Re: Jets Looking to Move CB Darrelle Revis
The guy is coming off major reconstructive knee surgery at a position where speed and quickness are critical. I dont believe anyone is going to pay a first round pick until there is evidence his knee is 100% and even then, signability is key. He is also not getting any younger. If his knee doesnt return completely, he could still be a very good player, or a very very expensive free safety, but surely not worth a number one pick let alone the 17 million a year that he wants. I think the jets are in a box on this one.

Re: Jets Looking to Move CB Darrelle Revis
Does he play safety? No? Then absolutely not.
Too much money.
Injury to his most valuable part.
Diva-tastic.
One year left and he wants to cash in.
We're already good at CB finally.
No no no no no.
Sorry.I believe!

Revis possibility why not?
So I see they are looking to possibly trade him why not go after him? We got some good extra picks and if we had him our defense would be complete. I think this move could make us one of the best teams in the league. Opinions?

Re: Revis possibility why not?
It would neither make us one of the best teams in the league, nor be a good idea. We have 2 above average corners already, he would require more salary than we'd like to pay him, and he takes away from resources to restocking the teams other needs.
The only possible reason to attempt it, is if we knew we could change one of the 3 corners we had into a Safety, but that's a stretch.
