Re: Jim Tressel, EDM: Take Vernon Gholston!
I disagree about it making explosiveness less of a need. As long as you have to beat an offensive tackle, you need to have that burst regardless of whether he has any help from the rest of the line. Last year, our best pass rusher on the defensive line was DT La'roi Glover, but our defensive ends still didn't perform well.

Re: Jim Tressel, EDM: Take Vernon Gholston!
Never said VG was on the field with any of them...Just made mention of the level of competition in the Big Ten vs The ACC. Good research Teke...you had to dig for that...i was just going off of the top of the draft. If I had the time to name every Big ten Linemen gone on the first day of the draft in the last 5 yrs you know that list would top list easy!. just off the top of my head....Levi brown/Joe thomas/Nick Mangold/Robert Gallerry.....you see what the MIA personell has done. They havent asked C> Long to come in and start negotiating...hummm...i wonder why....Parcells knows talent....he is going in board order whom he wants to make a difference on his team, while the ram faithful are concentrating on getting effort. there are no certainties in the draft, but give me the strongest, fastest , most explosive (42' vertical) individual and I think he will make the biggest difference. And that in one person is VG.
