Re: Justin Blackmon plummeting in the eyes of NFL GMs?

It's always interesting to me to hear a guy's stock is plummeting/soaring when they've not done anything recently to affect their stock. The last we saw of Blackmon was that he lit up his bowl game two weeks ago despite not being 100%. Unless Mr. McLovin is sitting on a police report or scandal we're not aware of, I'd take this "report" not with a mere grain of salt but an entire salt-lick's worth.

After having done some detective work (google), I think I may have found the reason. It's purely speculation, but during the ESPN telecast of the game against Stanford, the announcers were speaking of Blackmon having some difficulties with an "inner thigh infection" that kept him out of practice throughout the week prior to the game.

I'm hoping it's not what I think it means and it's nothing too serious. I'm reading all sorts of horror stories on other forums. Here's a "source" if you absolutely need one.

Considering his play in that game, combined with the fact that the infection is not a long term issue, I can't imagine that his draaft status would be impacted by that.

If anything this fact only increases his stock, proving that he can play at a high level even with injuries...something that is important in the NFL.
