Kenny Phillips

It is now being projected Kenny Phillips is dropping out of the first round. This is a kid we need to jump on. I don't care if the need is WR....passing him up would be a mistake.

Agree?

Re: Kenny Phillips

I agree with you. He should be going in the middle of the first round IMO... definitily will be BPA if he drops to us in the second, can't miss that opportunity. WR is no more of a need then S right now either.

Re: Kenny Phillips

If he is there...we have to look at the fact that the WR class is deeper than the safety class and Kenny Phillips would be a steal.

Whole-heartedly agree with everyone here. I'd take him in a snap.

Re: Kenny Phillips

If he's there, he'd be an excellent pick in my opinion. He'd likely be better value than the WRs or OL still on the board at that point. The question is, do the Rams feel as if they want to take a safety? I've always suspected they feel much better about Corey Chavous than fans do. On the other hand, drafting Phillips could not only give the Rams Chavous' potential successor but could also give them a potential bargaining chip in the Atogwe negotiations.

Re: Kenny Phillips

If we are talking about Kenny Phillips we might as well talk about Tyrelle Johnson who some think is better than Phillips and is a better SS while Phillips may be the better FS. I'd be happy with either and both may be better value atop the second unless DeSean Jackson or James Hardy fell

Re: Kenny Phillips

Wasn't Kenny supposed to be selected midway through the first round? It's been too long to remember where the early mocks had him going. Anybody know why his stock has fallen? With our 2nd rd pick being so high, we might be able to trade back a bit and still get him .. Not much longer to find out ..

Re: Kenny Phillips

Even if they don't consider safety an urgent need, it is not too early to be looking towards life after Corey. I mean he's already 32. I would be very happy with the choice if he was there.

Re: Kenny Phillips

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking the Rams need a quality player at SS,,,,,,

Looks like we may have to look at a second tear player since the top 2 are gone...
