When did Dan Connor start coming into the picture? I wonder. It was always an OT or WR, now a LB? hmmm....

Connor is quite a surprise. And what are the odds Tyrell Johnson goes 11 picks ahead of Kenny Phillips?

Well, come to think about its Goldenfleece, it is a surprise. Devaney is sold on Culberson winning the starting spot.

What troubled me at first was no WR in round two, but we can still get Avery in round 3.

well in a way its not a surprise. we have a minumum # of LB's going into training camp right now, and besides Will W. and Pisa, who else has proven they can start? Culberson has had some upside because he performed soo well late in the season, but even so we still need at least 1 other LB.

    Re: Kiper's 4/15 Two-Rounder

Kiper must be rediculously high (on Aquib Talib).

Talib is flawed in some way in just about every area you can think of. (Our lord and saviour) Toddy McShay shot his Talib suggestion to bits thismorning on Sportscenter. Kiper's response?

A very stammered, spluttery "well...that was then; this is now".

    im not sure about Kiper

he seems to bump players up loads so that teams reach for them. First of all he did it with Matt Ryan going to the Dolphins, recently he has been doing it with Branden Albert going to Kansas City at 5!

What i also dont get is why a team like the Rams who clearly need a WR will pass on Limas Sweed in the second to pick an LB

I'm not sure about Kiper, either, but I don't consider Albert to the Cheifs a huge reach at pick 5 if they can't find a trade partner. There's probably better value to be had in the 8-10 range if they were lookg specifically at that player. Or even a Ryan Clady.

Wait a minute. Surely you don't think the Rams, or any other team for that matter, make their selections based on what Mel Kiper says, do you? Granted, I'm sure most teams will look at all of the draft guides as part of their pre-draft process, but to think that the Rams would go for a LB in the 2nd round, just because Kiper has it in his draft guide would be silly.

no i dont think that the Rams will pick based on Kiper's selections, im questioning Kiper's logic as to why he would pick an LB in the second over a WR with mid-first round talent when WR is the Rams bigger need

Thats what I did in my last mock, took a LB with the second pick. We have no real depth at LB and WR can be found in the 3rd. OT not a hugh need, if an a Jake Long was there then maybe, but there was only one in this draft.

Like I've said before, the Rams could draft everywhere except RB, QB, and K and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I agree. It might come down to the BPA in the 2nd round.

I believe Draft has more than proven he could start when playing in Carolina and filling for oft injured Pisa. Second round is too high for linebacker, we have needs at other position that need to be filled before linebacker. We definately need a wr and another o-lineman before we need a LB in my opinion. We can find depth at lb in the 3rd or even the 4th if need be. Not to mention there will be veterans getting cut after the draft.

    Re: Kiper's 4/15 Two-Rounder

if Kiper made all the selections that each team wanted and needed what would everyone talk about ? this keeps everyone debating back and forth and keeps him on Sportscenter every night, really am tired of hearing Mel Kiper at this point, bring on Saturday.
