Kitna traded to Dallas implications
So now that the Cowgirls have picked up Kitna from the Lions it leaves the lions QBless at the starting position. Anyone think this looks like they will go QB #1 now? Leaving us with the choice of Curry or the two OT's?

And there are still free agent QB's out there. I hope they go QB with the 1.1 pick and we take Curry, but we'll see...

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
It means absolutely nothing. Kitna was known to be a cap casualty since his injury so it's surprising why Dallas traded for him. And apparently, Mayhew was a supporter of getting Culpepper at last year's training camp but was vetoed by Millen. When Millen was fired, they went out and got him. So this move means nothing and doesn't affect their draft whatsoever...

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
i dont think Culpepper is someone they can build a franchise around, but it could make them think that they dont need to draft a QB that high...lets hope that they do tho, because that would mean we could draft whoever WE WANT...

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
They have the young beast at WR...they DEFINATELY need the new QB to build around. After the success of Flacco and Ryan last year, bank on them going QB.

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
Scott Wright thinks Stafford is a better prospect coming out of college than Matt Ryan was last year.

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
This affects there pursuit of Bartell more than the draft IMO. They picked up Anthony Henry, but they still could go after Bartell

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
Well this could mean one of 2 things!
People say that the Lions will pull a Bill Parcells Miami Dolphins and take a cornerstone for less money with the 1st pick.
But since Kitna was a cap causalty this may mean they give Stafford the money that Kitna would have cost them.
---or---
it just means they are trying to seperate themselves from the Matt Milen Lions.
I think the 1st one is better thou. And Culpepper being named starter does not mean anything. I do not think the Lions want to start a QB from day 1. Even though Flaco and Ryan exelled last year that happens one in a while.
Few examples:
Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, and Carson Palmer all #1 picks did not start from day 1. And now all are top 5QBs. Yea Palmer is still top 5.
SO they will start Culpepper see how well Stafford gets the Offensive playbook then start.
No matter what i think we are taking OT with the 2nd pick. D-coorodinators who are 1st year head coaches draft Offense Early.
Last Year:
Tony Sparano-Dolphins- drafted OT Jake Long
Mike Smith-Falcons- drafted QB Matt Ryan
John Harbaugh-Ravens- Drafted QB Joe Flacco
Jim Zorn- Redskins- Devin Thomas WR (2nd round did not have 1st round pick)

Re: Kitna traded to Dallas implications
The Lions (I Hope) will go after a QB so we are free to choose. Kitna however led them to 7-9 last year. (With Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson) so the Lions even though they have Daunte he isint enough to last.
