The late draft is killing the "experts"

I've noticed a lot of talk on here and other places about picks suddenly rising or falling on draft boards the last couple of weeks, especially with QBs. However, I've heard interviews with GMs and coaches, and every one of them say their draft board is set. In other words, the teams decided who they wanted to draft weeks ago.

My thoughts are that in order for the analysts to keep people listening to them until draft day, they have to keep coming up with something new. All they can do is move guys up and down the boards so they can propose new mock drafts.

I personally don't put any stock in these draft board changes that have happened over the last couple of weeks. I can't imagine anything that has happened between the pro day/workout/combine and now that would sway the thougths of a GM or coach.

Yeah... its kind of like trying to keep milk for two weeks after the expiration date.

I read the Rams are using this time to look at the late round draft picks and UDFA. Not the high draft picks. Also the scouts and FO took off for a long weekend over Easter. They are probably brunt out as well.

Yuck! I love milk but anywhere near the date and it gets chucked! With a 6 and 2 yr old that isn't a problem though.

hmmm I should just chuck what is being said for the past two wks too. At least about the top couple rounds.

I know its not as glamorous as talking about the top players but it would be interesting to give light to players who are going to be farther down the line to give people who don't follow college football closely to get familar with them.

If the NFL keeps moving the draft like this, it will end up being a week long event, one for each round.
