    Lee Evans signs with Jags

The Jaguars just signed Lee Evans to a contract, a WR who has generally been well-regarded but hindered due to poor QB play (Or so the story goes at least).

Does anyone think this changes their draft strategy? Would they still go for Floyd with Evans and Robinson on the roster? Personally I'm not convinced Robinson has turned that corner from being awful to being a #2, nor am I convinced that Evans is a terrific WR who would have put up great numbers if he had a better QB throwing to him. So for me, if I'm the Jags, I'd still target a WR early.

Still, signing Evans maybe gives them the ability to address other areas with that first pick, and they have a lot of needs. Anyone have any thoughts? Does it change anyone's mock?

I'm sure they will still target a WR but at #7 it's too late for Blackmon and maybe too early for Floyd (lately Floyd has been running up in the rankings). So they will likely go for after the second tier of WR's in round 2 or 3. I still think QB coach would be their best move to help Gabbert develop. They better make it work as they traded up to select him.

    Go Rams!

I think this will work out about as well for them as signing torry holt. Evans is well past his prime. This is a shot at a guy on the cheap. It will not change anything about their draft strategy. By the way, "knocked the ball out of his hands" is a very very generous way to put it in describing what happened in the playoff game. That ball absolutely should have been caught. Isaac Bruce makes that catch with the game on the line 100x in a row.
