Les Snead Needs Your Advice on How to Respond to Atlanta

    Here's the scenario...

The Texans have selected a QB with the first pick.

The Rams are on the clock.

    Atlanta wants Jadeveon Clowney.

The Falcons' War Room is on the phone, trying to negotiate a trade.

What's your asking price (the No. 6 pick plus...)?

To move down that far and risk losing both OT and the best WR I would want Atlanta's 2014 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks.

No deal, we take Clowney, the best player in the draft. Clowney is the type of impact player we need to add to make some noise within our division. Why would we want to help them improve? I get it about adding picks, but we already have 12, Les is good enough to make the necessary deals to get most of the players we really want.

    Go Rams!

#6, #37 and next year 2nd rounder is the floor to what I would accept. And I think that is giving the Falcons a bargain.

    I would start with Atlanta's 2014 1st and 2nd, 2015 2nd round and if they didn't bite on that I'd move the 2015 pick down to a 3rd.

Any deal would have to include their 1st next year which is likely to be in the 20's anyway. So I chose the second option as a starting point.

Re: Les Snead Needs Your Advice on How to Respond to Atlanta

This years draft is considered to be a great one so for that reason I chose the first cause it was closest to what I believe might be in play if this went down. However as Barry cited recently in another thread, ack I am using Barry for a source that is painful! LOL
Might not be able to get a 2nd for this year, as the value is considered very high, so maybe a 3rd and a 5th to go along with the 2015 first and swaps of this years number ones we might throw in our 6th or 7th rounders to get it done etc. I could see it being mutliple pics for both sides. We actually have too many pics any how so we need some of these multiple pic deals to happen imho. Going to be fun to see what Les can pull off this year!

Me personally, I want the Falcons' first next year. With this said, in such a deep draft, I would be fine if the deal was this year's 1,3 and maybe a later round pick and next year's 1.

with all the hype around clowney (if they do indeed want him) then next year's first rounder is the LEAST they could do

can't be that "can't miss" if he's not worth an RGIII type deal

If Clowney falls to #2. Count you lucky stars and take him. We will get a really good player at #13 and an Impact player in Clowney...

Re: Les Snead Needs Your Advice on How to Respond to Atlanta

Just to play devil's advocate, OT is a big need for the Falcons (hint at who they're taking in the Clanram Draft). I'm sure they'd love to have Clowney or Mack, but they may want to hang on to their picks and take either Matthews or Robinson at #6.

Re: Les Snead Needs Your Advice on How to Respond to Atlanta

The question in my mind is....Is Clowney a want or a need? For us I think he's a want and supposedly is the BPA at #2. So I go for the gusto and see how badly Atlanta wants him.

I want the 2nd option on the list:
    Atlanta's 1st & 2nd in the 2014 draft and their 1st in the 2015 draft.

If they don't go for it I'm sure they will make a counter offer if they really have to have Clowney.

Re: Les Snead Needs Your Advice on How to Respond to Atlanta

    I think you have to start at: Atlanta's 2014 1st and 2nd, 2015 1st, or no deal.

Because you might end up getting better deals than Atlanta if they don't do the above.
