I like that scenario also.
i like the Dorsey and Jackson idea, however that would probably leave us lacking at one of OT or WR
The Rams are still going to be lacking in places after this draft anyway. Way too many holes to fill. It's going to take next years draft also to plug everything.
1.Dorsey
2.Jackson
3.Mario Manningham WR Michigan, some have us getting him in the 3rd, I know Scott does...
I don't know. I've favored Chris Long for a while. But that first scenerio is tempting.
This is my concern about Dorsey. We draft Dorsey, but our front office is willing to put their trust into James Hall. I don't think that will work out. It would be nice to have Jackson round two, but I have this gut feeling they won't take him.
But if they did, that second scenerio is great. But just knowing what kind of guy Chris Long is, I would prefer him over the two right now.
Moose which line do you like better?
But your first scenario requires the first two picks so to fulfill the equation, you must also ask what OTs you'd want......say, Pace, Barron, Gorin; or Pace, Barron, Collins/Nicks/Baker etc. Or what WRs you'd want.......Holt, Bennett, Looker; or Holt, Bennett, Manningham/Hardy/Sweed etc.?
Hub I want Manningham and I think he will fall to us in the third. OT was only an option if Jake was on the board IMO, thats how good he is.OT we can get by this year, not sure we will get Pace's replacement this year, not sure how high that is on the list.
As far as two picks, we know we can get the first one, so it only one thats Jackson and he may be there, not unrealistic.
we do need depth at OT though
Depth is a luxury not exactly what we need to spend a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round pick on.
I like the Dorsey option because the quickest path to the QB is in the middle. If Dorsey can adjust his game to the NFL and be a disruptive beast then teams will have to account for him.
This will make Witherspoon and OJ available to make plays. Having a defensive presence in the middle can handcuff opposing teams offense. Just look at Jacksonville they have been stellar in the NFL because of the MIDDLE of that Defensive. As DC if your guys take away the middle the game plan is simplified and it allows your playmakers to make plays.
Dorsey and Carricker can give this team a identity in the middle that can be fairly simple since these two players will mannnnnn the middle......
Go Rams
I favor the first option, but of course we'd then be a little worse off on the offensive side. Still, like others said, we can't expect to fill every hole with thsi draft.
IMO Dorsey is the best player available and will have a monster Career, you can't let that type of talent pass you by. And with Adams ability to play a variety of positions on the Dline, it is set up perfectly for us. This would give us an incredible front 4 on D.
