With the 30th pick... the Indianapolis Colts select...

    Laurence Maroney, RB, Minnesota

    6'0, 215 lbs.

Out with the Edge, in with Maroney. Though perhaps not the workhorse-type back that James is, Maroney is explosive and a good receiver. He will compete with Dominic Rhodes for carries as a rookie, and eventually take over as the starter.

With the 31st pick, the Seahawks select...

    Kamerion Wimbley, DE/OLB, Florida St.
    6'4", 250, Senior

Wimbley may be a bit of a reach, but the Seahawks need a situational pass rusher, which Wimbley could fill immediately. As well, he will be an impact special teamer from day 1. He needs to bulk up in order to be a full-time DE, but for now he could be a solid passing DE.

With the 32nd selection in the ClanRam Moderator Draft, the Super Bow champion Pittsburgh Steelers select:

    Bobby Carpenter, LB, Ohio State
    6'2" - 256 lbs - Senior

LenDale White would be a great option for the Steelers here... if his stock wasn't falling like a skydiver from 20,000 feet. I think it would be hard for Pittsburgh to take an underachieving running back over a hard working linebacker who would fit very well in their 3-4 attacking defense. Carpenter is a blue collar guy who may not have the best measurables, but could fit in very well as a pass rusher off the edge for Blitzburg.

Re: *LIVE* ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft!

With with the first pick of the second round and the 33rd overall selection in the ClanRam Moderator Draft, the Houston Texans select:

    Marcus McNeil, Auburn
    6'9", 338

Houston needs serious help along their offensive line, both in giving Carr some time and opening some holes for Bush. This mountain of a man with a HUGE a wing-span would provide immediate depth, with a large possibility of providing them an opening day starter on the left side, and giving them an option in moving Pitts back to his natural position (guard).

With the 34th overall selection in the ClanRam Moderator Draft, the New Orleans Saints select:

    Thomas Howard, OLB, UTEP
    6'3" 239 lbs.

Desperate to find a playmaker for their linebacker corps, the Saints see the recent run of OLB picks and bypass the best-player-available method to take one of the top-rated guys left at the position. With his 4.4 speed, coverage abilities, and big-hitting style, Howard will give New Orleans a good starting foundation as they revamp their defense.

The NY Jets with 35th pick select..........

    Eric Winston OT The "U"

In connection with the Mangold pick, the Jets continue shoring up the O line. The Chad Pennington's of the world are too expensive to be behind a porous line the Jets have had recently. With the ability to play both sides of the T spot, he probably will begin on the R.

With pick number 36, the Green Bay Packers select...

    Derek Hagan, WR, Arizona State

    6'1, 203 lbs

With Javon Walker likely gone, the Packers need another quality receiver. While Hagan may not have the upside of the receivers selected ahead him, he is very polished and fearless, and should make an impact quickly.

Re: *LIVE* ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft!

With the 37th pick, The Niners select....

    D'Qwell Jackson, ILB, Maryland
    6'0", 230, Senior

The niners could use a wide-out here, but there's no receiver of any value at this pick, so they spend their 2nd pick on the defense. They raised the pass rush a notch with the Mario pick, but now they must turn their attention to the LB corp. They lost Peterson, and will have to find a way to fill his shoes. All the top OLBs are off the board, but Jackson is versatile enough to handle the inside spot next to Smith in their 3-4 or move outside if need be. Jackson is a top technician and a smart player. Not a big hitter, but when he gets hands-on the carrier is going down.

With the 38th pick in the ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft, the Oakland Raiders select...

    Gabe Watson, DT, Michigan
    6'3" - 339 lbs - Senior

The Raiders clearly need to address their defense, and one of the key areas of need is the defensive line. Oakland lost Ted Washington to free agency, and Warren Sapp probably does not have much longer before he ends his career on the field and begins one off the field in broadcasting. Behind Sapp is virtually nothing. Watson, though known to be a bit of an underachiever, has all the tools for success and could really develop into a dominant run-stuffer that is so desperately needed in the AFC West.

With the 39th pick in the ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft, the Tennessee Titans select...

    Max Jean-Gilles, Georgia
    6'4", 355

Titans will need help along their front line and Max will be ready for the NFL by the end of training camp. He is a dominating run blocker and has experience at both guard and tackle.

With the 40th pick in the ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions select...

    Jason Allen, S, Tennessee
    6'0" 209 lbs.

If it weren't for his hip injury this last October, Allen would be considered among the top fifteen prospects in this draft. The Lions need help in the secondary, and after passing on Huff in the first round, they don't hesitate to take the risk here with a player more prone to injury but of equal talent.

The Arizona Cardinals with their 2nd round pick select...

    Johnathan Joseph....CB....South Carolina

    5"11...193...4.31

The Cardinals could use some O line help as Warner isn't the most mobile QB in the NFL but in this mock most of the value has passed this slot and Joseph has one of the main intangibles you can't coach....speed.

With the 42nd selection, the Buffalo Bills pick...

    Joe Klopfenstein, TE, Colorado

    6'6, 245 lbs.

Klopfenstein greatly improved his stock in the Senior Bowl and with his workouts. The Bills don't have a TE on their roster who had more than 20 receptions last season, so he fills a need.

With the 43rd selection, the Cleveland Browns choose....

    LenDale White, RB, USC
    6'0", 240 lbs., Junior

White with the 43rd pick? Is that now the steal of the draft? Only if his cavalier attitude displayed at the USC Pro Day was an anomaly. On the field, there's no question, White could be the next Bettis. But this has been a strange offseason for those taking a look at White. After looking like a mid-1st, he's now falling into the mid 2nd. Hard to believe part of the Trojan Triumverant has fallen to this point. However, Crennel, rolls the dice and pairs White with Droughens to see if he can re-create the Thunder in USC's offense.

With the 44th selection in the ClanRam Moderator Mock Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select...

    Ryan O'Callaghan, OT, California
    6'6'" - 344 lbs - Senior

The Ravens released Orlando Brown, and really need to add some youth and depth to their offensive line. Ryan should not only add the youth, but may add more than depth seeing as how he could immediately fill in at the right tackle position.
